My humble opinion is that, anyone who has a 6700K / GTX 1070 + in their system should not be trying to justify 12GB of RAM.

Unless the game has x64 executables, it will not use more than 3.5GB of RAM. ;)

Tell that to Just Cause 3 that can and will eat 7GB easily.

Yet it works just fine with a total of 8 gigabytes RAM installed. I mean no stuttering and such.

On Windows, under normal circumstances a 32-bit process can only access 2GB of RAM. With some exceptions.

I put 16GB in my Sandy Bridge system when I built it almost 6 years ago now (how long?! ) and it's stood the test of time. Heck, I was running it without a page file for years until I upgraded to W10 without any problems at all. Certainly been a worthy investment.

My next system will likely have 32GB RAM, because I can. ;)

Benchmark Scores Meh benchmarks.
I used to run windows Vista\ 7 without pagefile and used to pop a memory shortage with some games, which is when i opted for 16GB, that was some time ago and surly that 8GB would be hit even more often today.

Never mind at the time Samsung low profile ram was sooo tempting and cheap to boot.
