Wondering if they intentionally clocked it lower to allow high oc. Probably tops out around 4.5GHz

They wanted to hit 95w tdp, apparently. That's a mistake. Need a 125W model.

They develop a CPU with certain specs in mind. Proberly a high-end or "FX" CPU will be having that 125W power enveloppe.

But yes it's stated that 4GHz on air OC was possible and 5GHz on LN2.

Software A lot.
Benchmark Scores Its fast. Enough.
So 1/4 of their performance uplift was from essentially AI, and its faster than a $1100 Intel chip without using its boost.... At first I thought maybe its gaming performance would be a little less as the branch prediction and handling is so much less linear than rendering or media conversion, but apparently is as fast or faster than whatever (unnamed) Intel chip that was in the gaming rig... so maybe its still a little slower than Intel at out of order, and still is slightly slower than them in single threaded, but as long as the price is right... fuck yeah.

Yea, it does look promising though we'll still have to wait and see. It is priced to compete with Skylake/Krabs yet they were benching it vs Broadwell E 8core. That will only benefit out wallets.

Not many systems including 6700k can game and encode/stream at the same time. Most pros use two systems to play n stream at the same time.

I hear ya but according to the live the new AMD system was not dropping and Pros don't have to use two of them.

I am sure it is unrelated that all AMD Processors are on sale on Newegg.com right now. http://www.newegg.com/AMD/EventSaleStore/ID-2029385?Order=PRICE Stock dumb or making room for some Late Dec, Early Jan shipments? If the leaks keep up this trend of being accurate, the assumption about release shortly after CES 2017 might also be real.

I am honestly excited for once. I haven't been this gitty since my AMD 64 X2 4600 chip.

I'm annoyed with this - the reason usually is is that encoding is multi threaded, so if you take 2 threads for the game, a 6700k only has another two threads (ignoring ht for a sec). Whilst Ryzen is rocking another 6. Of course its going to stream better. I could do the same thing on a 6900k and not get stuttering.

I think that was the point. With current (and likely future) prices Zen is what you want to buy unless you happen to have many hundreds of more dollars for the 6900k.

Did you even watch the video?
They also ran the same game and streamed at the same time using a 6900k as well as the AMD chip, the 6700k dropped frames, the other two didn't.

Nope, had to work. lol. All I heard is that they did this against a 6700k, with no mention of the 6900k on that bench.
