I have core temps but i think it shows the temps on my mb asus 970 pro gaming/aura since it's the same as mb with hwmonitor, what software can show me the right temp from my fx8300 cpu in the taskbar?

19 min prime time small ffts it got according to ai suite 3 57c hot but core temp showed much lower temp someting like 10-15c less

you can use hwinfo64 to send these numbers to just about anywhere (including onscreen during games beside your FPS counter)

There is no more reliable or more accurate app for a 8300 CPU (I use this with my 8350 and its the only app that shows the 2nd temp in my diagram instead of the first inaccurate one)

The temp it shows (2nd one in pic) is the same one your BIOS shows for your CPU (and hwinfo64 seems to be the only app that can display that temp, all other apps seem to show the "package temp" which is effectively completely useless).

The second batch is socket temp not cpu and is wildly inaccurate.

The second batch is socket temp not cpu and is wildly inaccurate.

on an AMD CPU its the most accurate you're going to get (and is also what is used in your BIOS)

Just look at the numbers (its reading 15c just now)

I agree on Intel it wouldn't be as good as the other but on AMD its the other way around ;-)

But you're right maybe "accurate" wasn't' the correct word to use, I should of said "as close to it as you're going to get on AMD" :)

Mine also consistently starts to throttle when it hits 62/63 (seen it up to 64 once) which is in line with AMD rules of 62c maximum. So even if its off by a few degrees and gives you no "per core" values its still by far your best & only option.

If you've never been intel, it doesn't even bother you and would seem absolutely normal.

The "package" one on AMD CPU's also isn't physically taken as a temp. It's calculated using some obscure equation related to load. The "socket" temp, at least, is a physical temperature taken by thermostat on mobo. (for amd). :)

If you're coming from intel, just remember it might be out by a few degrees. But will still be "consistently" meaning it won't jump around and will still "scale" acceptably as physical heat increases.

Edit:
I wonder if AMD have fixed this with ZEN.... can only wait and see :)

I haven't decided what I'm doing for next CPU yet, going to wait for benchmarks. But if its as good as they say: i7 6800k performance for half the price I'll be going zen :)

Intel have raped on price for too long due to weak competition.

I have already said why it reads that way. It is accurate at max tcase temp.
