Hi,

I have a Thread on the XDA Forums cause i have 4 Extended Batteries for my LG G4 verizon (Model: VS986)

Now these Batteries can charge by USB BUT i bought a Battery Charger to let them charge the right way as USB just wasn't cutting it as when i got my Battery Charger i did a test were i charged via USB&Battery Charger and the USB got 3HRs of SOT were the Battery Charger got 5. So to my experience these so called Quick Charging Tech are only meant for the Original Battery. I charged my TQTHL Slim Battery via USB and it Discharged fast

So what y'all think? Am i wrong?

These china batteries are utter crap. They show greater capacity and WAAY much higher internal resitance than really there are.

And... why you simply don't get some spare original batteries? They cost rubbish like 16€.

Qualcomm quick charge doesn't care about the capacity, but the voltage level and temperature.

The link for your battery charger... I really don't understand the output voltages. It looks like a fire hazard to me, throw it out.

I am an authorized repair technician for mobile phones including also LG for more than 10 years. So what are you sure I don't have objective opinion about those things after seeing thousands of them in my hands?

Also don't buy batteries from ebay etc, those usually are fake/used. A proper new OEM battery should be only a few months old(usually for LG).

That external charger is a hazard as it doesn't monitor temperature, and is compliant almost to nothing.

I said usually. Knowing the failure rates of H815, those probably are coming from failed units with bad CPU. They will all die eventually... :pimp:.

Okay... and knowing all that, that you can hold 2-3 days there is really need for more (I also sometimes carry a G4 around, if you disable facebook it lasts long). When I go out camping, concerts etc I just take with me three spare batteries, and still actually I manage not to use them in the end, it takes less space and hassle, just reload the new bullet. Also a wireless charging cover maybe a solution for you.

Not only that, If it won't be for the women, would gladly to ignore it as such. Also get some real quick charger. Either Samsung fast charger(beware, those are a lot fakes too), from the 3rd parity ones I use Aukey (it is qualcomm quick charge certified). It really will help to gain up the juice faster.

The stock one is only 5V 1.8A and usualy the phone eats around ~1.7A in that mode. The Fast charge uses ~9V@1.5A (technically qualcomm also added 12V option, but never seen a device using that). So 8.5W versus 13.5W pumping inside, if the phone is cool, if it heats up, the charge rates are dropped for both modes. So there is significant boost in charging times.

So think maybe about an investment in that department. I ordered once this, still miraculously works, and the USB cable wasn't crap either. That's a different argument, peps usually buy a quick charger using old crappy cables and wonder why it doesn't work. The phone always does benchmark upon starting quick charge, if there is voltage drop on the shitty cable it will use only the slow mode.

That's the company charger i have. Does the cable brand make a difference in charging? I've bought maybe3 types of cable and all 3 the port tears apart easily but 1 stayed together for a couple of months at least

I've seen a lot bad cables. LG stock ones are usually good. Samsung ones some are crap, very prone to breaking, but some models are fine(they have like gazillion models for them). HTC are good, Sony are very nice, still the only ones coming with a ferrite. The china ones simply lack copper, there are some good ones, but they have all very crappy USB connectors and not very durable. Old Nokia ones are bad, they lack copper(gauge), so quick charge won't start.

So yes cables do matter for charging. If the thing is too long, bad copper, bad connector, there will be a voltage drop = no fast charging. Samsung cheats a bit and uses often chargers rated for 5.3V for some models, their pads are very sensitive to this thing. So all chargers and cables are the same? Nope it is not.

It is because you charge and use the device in the same time, ain't it? A bad habit.

Then really the wireless charger cover is a best solution for you. I really don't understand why monitor makers do not add it by default in the stands. A perfect place for them actually.
