Is it just me or what?

I feel the fx 8300 at 4.0-4.2ghz on all cores has less cpu usage than my i5 6600k at 4.4 ghz (daily use, lots of multitasking)

It scores better at the passmark performance test (strangely enough)but all other test the i5 6600k scores alot better

How is that possible? (that i feel the 8 core amd fx is better for multitasking with less cpu usage than the i5 6600k at 4.4ghz, both are asus budget gaming motherboards)

https://browser.primatelabs.com/v4/cpu/1396846

https://browser.primatelabs.com/v4/cpu/1362269 (why it say 3.611ghz and if it would be faster if it where 4.0ghz or higher i don't know)

Games are of course alot better on intel than amd, the same with the power consumption

Kind of wish i had bought the i7 6700 non k instead of the i5 6600k

Games doesn't benefit for more ghz

Depends on the running program(s). Most don't even use all 4 cores. Windows does though. And that is a good thing.

Of course they do unless they are artificially capped ... it may be insignificant increase when gpu heavy stuff is going on, but there is always an increase.

instructions, memory bandwidth and also controller ... technology and fab process might be resposible of the performance of both processors, you cannot compare quite different processors cause the result will lead you to the epic confusion you have right now, also the i6 6600K its 200% times better processor compared to your old, marginally older FX 8XXX series, if you put a pull most people will chose the i5,

(why it say 3.611ghz and if it would be faster if it where 4.0ghz or higher i don't know)

its easier, not all processors will "handle" the information that way, again the processors you listed are quite different, dunno why are you so mad with the results since you have a quite capable processor there

great point there too

And again, Windows will take advantage of faster clocks too. And anything that lets Windows perform its duties faster benefits everything else too.

Not mad about any results, just surprised how low the passmark score is from my i5 6600k, mabye my evaluation periode of the passmark software is over and there for the result is not as good as it can be

I feel singel core performance is only noticeable when gaming, when multitasking i don't feel a difference as big as i might in the back of my head has hoped for

But the difference in power consumption and games, even with the same graphic settings and gpu is huge, in games atleast 25-30 fps (need for speed)

i just dont care about benchs that much, i test my settings on gaming, thats what i made the rig for, not for synthetic tests on a bench, i use it just for stability tests...

your amd consumes moar power according the tech specs of both processors...
