Hi all, I want to overclock my Processor & Memory. What optimal setting that i should do?. and what i need (e.g cooler or something) to get the best performance for my current system. Thx.
;). Below attachment is the cpuz & temperature of my system.:banghead:

There are no optimal settings when it comes to overclocking. You just have to go in and tweak until you find what works for you.

Keep the temperatures under 65C if possible under load, you can test for stability using Orthos SP2004, this will also put the computer under load so you can find your load temps.

If the processor is unstable and your temps are fine then you can add voltage to it. I wouldn't set it above 1.4v if you are using Intel's cooler, you can probably go up to 1.5v with a better cooler, but it all depends on what temps you are getting.

those temps look fairly high considering the cpu is not under any load and you have the fan turned up to 100%...
try another temperature documenting program and see if those temps are correct, if so I'd get a better cooler before messing with voltages

That is a Prescott, 55c idle is actually a good temperature.

Just keep it under 65C load and you will be fine(technically 70c should be fine, but it is better to be safe than sorry).

FYI - You loose performace over 60C because of the built in 'Throttling', and you can't turn it off...(BIOS options to turn off 'throttling' or 'speedstep' is secondary to built-in)

Anyway, drop your RAM divider, find you max CPU OC. Set 24/7 OC to about ~5% less than max.

Then loosen RAM timings and tighten up divider until you find max RAM OC. Then tighten up timings.

Presto!

Yeah. those temp are pretty high, if you OC the temp easly can reach the 65C, maybe you want to buy a pair of 80mm or 60mm fans to increase the air ventilation, most depends of how many holes your case has.

Anyway, if you still want to do OC, you need to enter in your mobo's BIOS and change the FSB, 1 or 2 MHZ at a time until you find the desire speed or until the system don't boot anymore.....careful with this, some mobos have a "safe-mode" feature that comes in handy when you make the system unbootable (this word exists?? :p), the mobo return to its original settings but without this you need to reset your BIOS via changing jumpers or exctracting the battery about 15-20 seconds and place it again.

for better assistance you may want to view the sticky thread that was created for this purposses.

Correct in that the CPU has thermal thottling and you can't turn it off, however it doesn't kick in until 80C.

OK. Thx for all suggestion. Maybe i will start from my processor. I try to make my FSB higher than 215 but after that my comp running slower than before. So i set it back to 215. I check my thermal paste obviously already dry. My friend said to me to have AC Silver MX-1. is that useful to minus the temp?.

Below is the temp for full load my pc (still not using MX-1). And i forgot to say that now my proc only using the standard intel fan. (and the last config & result)

Anyway, drop your RAM divider, find you max CPU OC. Set 24/7 OC to about ~5% less than max.

Then loosen RAM timings and tighten up divider until you find max RAM OC. Then tighten up timings.

Presto!
I'm sorry that i don't really get what it means cause i still newbie in OC thing.

And for the memory is there any possibilities to make it run at 2-2-2-5:D. Is it useful to use heatspreader?.

Thx.:D

Check the link in my sig for some good suggestions on OC-ing/Cooling, especially since you're new to OC-ing, it will have some useful tips for you! Those temps are toasty...you should consider using the MX-1 for lowering temps a little or even getting a better cooler to get more efficient cooling, you can get a decent one for fairly cheap now-a-days.

For budget and great performance buy; get the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro.

Kursah's link is awesome. Easy to understand and helps a lot. DO READ IT.

I use the AC Freezer 7 Pro on my C2D 6300, and it keeps temps cool, good performing and cheap cooler. Worth the few bucks it costs.
