PNY Announces the CS2030 Series M.2 NVMe SSD

PNY announced the CS2030 line of high-performance SSDs in the M.2-2280 form-factor. The drives take advantage of PCI-Express 3.0 x4 (32 Gb/s M.2 slots), and the NVMe protocol, and are available in two capacities - 240 GB and 480 GB. Combining a Phison PS5007 controller with MLC NAND flash memory, the drives offer sequential transfer-rates of up to 2,750 MB/s reads, with up to 1,500 MB/s sequential writes. 4K random access performance is rated by the manufacturer at up to 210,000 IOPS reads, and up to 215,000 IOPS writes. Backed by 3-year warranties, the 240 GB variant is priced at US $179.99, and the 480 GB variant at $329.99.

I'm always happy to see more NVMe drives appearing on the market. Of course, will have to see how it fares in the reviews, but competition is always good for us consumers.

How much faster can it get? I'm still shocked and excited at the same time about the performance of my "outdated" XP941, and I had for over 6 months now (bought already used)...
My system boots almost instantaneously comparing to my old SATA-III SSD drive. Takes awhile to get used to that kind of speed...

For me, my Intel 600p is more than enough, since I'm more into the read performance as it's my system drive. But yeah, it's nice to see new M.2 drives.
