I'm surprised more people don't overclock their monitor. It's pretty easy.

Overclocking the monitor is easy, whether or not it over clocks is another story. I have yet to have a computer monitor that won't OC at least a little. However my TV won't even go to 61Hz!

I find memory overclocking to be more fun difficult and more intuitive because there is a lot more to tweak. I dont overclock anymore for the benefits because todays hardware is fast enough out of the box. I do it now because i like benchmarking and messing with hardware.

I voted CPU, ram and GPU since overclock it all and Vram on GFX aswell besides its free ekstra power and if done properly its not like hardware dies after a few days. No overclokket hardware can survive for years if not pushed to hard. That I7 920 i have now have been OC for 4 years now and still going strong and when it comes to GPU all i have overclokket and sold still worked perfectly 2 years after i got them and then sold them. Those GTX 970 i have now has even been modifed in bios for higher power target from 106 % to 119 % so that they dont throttle down so much and means more watt going throw the cards and that makes a greater impact on the parts that they where designet for and yet over two years after i got them still going strong aswell. Oc is safe, great and fun as long you keep an eye on voltage and temperature and not doing extreme OC with dry ice and LN2. Heat and hig voltage is what normal takes the life of hardware and not the oc in its self.

doesnt work on any of the monitors in my house. all the TV's wont even work at 61Hz, HDMI receivers wont work at 61Hz, and my samsung 24" (and wifeys 24") will work at 75Hz with an 'unsupported resolution' warning that wont go away.

Fully agree, and the number of ways to oc keep me buying new stuff, if anything I'd complain about is sometimes like GPUs it's too easy now to find a cards limits I end up at roughly the same top clock arseing about for hours trying to tweak for nothing really gained.
