I haven't been following development closely but still not sold on the end product. I backed it early and for the premium big package (kind of accidentally....but that's another thought) because I believed in what they said the game to be, and it seems to be slowly drifting away from that. Guess I'll just hold out for the full version but weary still.

More like, when your total inventory value is less than 20K ( the value of 2 scopes ), we will boost you 50k during the Alpha to let you not go into the battle empty handed.

It is still that way. They only made this change in the alpha because they disabled the ability to farm loot offline. If you cant farm offline and constantly die in game, thereby losing all your gear, you will run out of money and will essentially spawn empty handed and hope that you can survive long enough to get a weapon and escape. Apparently there have been a lot of testers with that problem.

Just picked up the game yesterday. Some co workers have been playing it and it looked good. The game is still pretty rough and it need a ton of work. It really sux that there is no 21:9 aspect ratio. 2650x1080 works but its in 16:9 so the models are short an fat which looks nasty. Loot farming the factory is a slow go since wait times are over 5-10 minutes to queue. Hope they do some major changes to the game and keep it going.

You should join Highway and I. I joined an Arma clan a while back and got them playing EFT. Now we roll ~10 players deep in EFT. My suggestion is to not run Customs or Factory. The better loot I have farmed has been in the Resort at Shoreline.
