Hello, i have an AMD A8 6600K 3.9 mhz with a 500W power supply, ASUS A88XM-A Motherboard, 4GB RAM.
I would like to upgrade my graphic card without upgrading the power supply, so it can run Assetto Corsa/RFactor2. I was thinking of getting the Gigabyte Radeon R9 380 2GB card and another 4GB RAM.
Will it run OK? any recommendations?
Thanks for the support.

RX 470. Don't buy the R9 380. It's old and it uses a LOT more power.

Or maybe consider a GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti. Very low power requirements and great performance.

Get a RX 460 or RX 470, depending on how much you want to spent. Don't buy a GPU card with reference cooler, get a custom one. Because your CPU is a bit weak, I'd rather go with a RX 460 and/or maybe save for a platform upgrade (CPU+MB+Ram).

I believe i will get the RX470, it seems to be very good value for money without upgrading the PSU.

Be aware that your CPU will seriously slow it down though. Next thing you should do after it, is upgrading exactly this then.

Thanx Kanan.
What would you think will be the best card which will match this CPU without slowing down the performance? like the best fit for the current specs. Maybe the RX460?
I am asking because i do not intend to change the CPU anytime soon and i want to maximize what i already have.

Just go for the 470. Will it reach it full potential? No, but it will give you more performance then the 460. After this, I would save up for 4GB extra RAM, and after that, it's time to start saving for an entire new system and sellt he current one.
So 2017: 4GB RAM + 470
2019: Entire new system ( PSU, Mainboard, CPU, GPU, SSD etc... )

Here's a bottleneck calculator that confirms Kanan's diagnosis - http://thebottlenecker.com/bottleneck-calculator/ - but, every system has a "bottleneck" somewhere, to some degree - it just means that one component moves data faster than another. Even using the most powerful FM2+ APU (A10-7890K) the calculator still shows the CPU as a bottleneck to the RX 470. However, the calculator shows the RX 460 to be perfectly matched with your existing APU, and RX 460 has only a 75 watt power draw (no external power connector), so your existing power supply is fine. They come in 2GB ($100) or 4GB ($120) models.

Great. I also checked it now with the Bottlenecker, the RX460 seems to match perfectly to my system.
What about this model: Sapphire Nitro AMD Radeon RX 460 4G D5 4GB GDDR5
It costs less than the ASUS and GIGABYTE equivalents (a bit less even than the 2GB rivals) . Someone Know if the card is any good and why it costs less than the less spec rival?

LOL! It says a i5 6600K is to weak for a GTX1070....o_O

So my i5 6500 would be to weak as well...o_O
For some games only, not all. A good example is BF1 because it needs a strong CPU and GPU as well. If you only play GPU limited or typical 4 threads games you will be fine. That said, a friend of mine just upgraded from i5 4670k @ 4.1ghz to i7 4790k @ 4.6ghz for cpu heavy games. His minimum fps in bf1 went up over 40!! Fps after this. He uses a overclocked 980ti, comparable to the 1070.

@danielk83

Your options are: buy the RX 470 and have future performance for when you upgrade cpu later that is unlocked then.

Or buy a RX 460/1050 ti. I went for a 1050ti for my dad's pc which sports a old Phenom II 940 @ 3.3 ghz , so I needed a gpu that can do well with weaker cpus and went for the best one which currently is the 1050ti.

All this said, I would go for the 470 and then upgrade cpu etc. later as well, because the 470 is a very great price to performance gpu. But this is only my opinion and you must know what's best for you in the end.

Because Sapphire support is the worst in the industry - if you have a problem (and many do), you're screwed. I always buy EVGA cards, they have the BEST support, and rarely need it. EVGA doesn't do AMD, so I'd say your best bet is a GTX 1050 (which is also a perfect fit with your APU, according to bottleneck calculator). I suggest this one https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487296 , or this one if you prefer a full-sized card https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487297

This is what it's all about ... for example when bottlenecker calculates 10% cpu bottleneck, it's simply a worst case scenario - meaning there exists one game that will run 10% worse on your system compared to the system with fastest cpu using the same gpu.
