Is Intel scared about AMD Ryzen, look at this 3 minute PR commerical

Earlier today the CEO of Intel Brian Krzanich meet with President Trump that turned into some kind of a PR stunt and a 3 minute commercial for Intel.

Yesterday I read that intel will be releasing a i5 version with HT and last month they released a i3 processor with unlocked multipliers. The newer i7 and i5 versions are going to operate at the higher speed and higher thermal wattage and have the igpu disabled.

A little about me, I am a business owner that operates on ebay full time and I am a trained stock analyst that worked at one of the largest investment banks in the world up until 2009. I like to break everything down piece by piece, its how my mind works.

AMD Ryzen is set to be released next month. The CEO talks about how President Trump is going to cut taxes and regulations but those laws are not the books yet. As a business owner myself, you first need to get everything in place 1st then go ahead with your business plans. Besides what happens if those cut cuts are not passed. Will those Intel jobs will still be added to Arizona.

So I think Intel is really really scared about AMD Zen. After all they have a monopoly on the computer chips. If they cut prices or market share drops it will hurt their overall revenue and profit margins.

I think they where able to get a engineering sample of AMD Zen and a working AM4 socket motherboard from their motherboard partners and where able to test it out.

Sorry for the long post. Watching that today made me happier for AMD.

As far as intel being scared of anything AMD has to offer strikes me as absurd. To be entirely fair I would say maybe financially concerned. Being scared based on fact would be illogical since track record shows that unless AMD makes a huge change ,their chips will sell for a significant amount less and perform an equal amount less ,respectively. Of course maybe Close to a decade of second-best will push AMD to excel. Frankly speculation is for analysts, and I'm just a consumer who buys the best chip for the job at hand, but since I don't put any stock in rumor or speculation I'll just wait for facts, Based on proof, rather than "Poof", which is what claims pre-release Tend to do in situations like these.

I meant to say financially concerned about AMD's new cpu. I wasnt trying to speculate anything on what AMD might be releasing, I was just wondering why Intel would release such major news without the tax laws and regulations in place already. Nothing has been passed on that front as of yet. Passing tax (cuts-increases) laws is simply the hardest thing for congress to do and if they do it.

As a business owner and know people who own their own business they dont just go ahead with plans like that until they know the laws are in place already. I just find it weird with this announcement and/or maybe with AMD's cpu coming out in next month. The timing is just kinda weird or whatever.

Doesn't the Nvidia deal end next month with Intel ? Disabling the iGPU for chips introduced after the deal ends would be a reasonable step if the deal is not (in the process or likely) renewed.

This doesn't make much sense, to me at least. It's the same KL chips, albeit with IGP disabled. If what you're saying is right then Intel should stop selling all their IGP products after the Nvidia deal expires, since it's a licensing deal & I doubt it gives them protection from Nvidia's graphics IP violation for perpetuity. This is just Intel reacting to Ryzen, which doesn't have IGP, with their fastest ST monsters on the consumer front. Now they've had to increase the TDP, even after disabling the IGP, which tells me that they're pushing these chips to the extreme. I doubt they'd have the TDP headroom to enable the IGP & then factory OC these parts, not unlike the 9570 or 9590 from AMD.

Being realistic I'd be surprised if Intel didn't perk up a bit when their monopolized safe bet revenue (that was declining anyway) was under threat.
It's a good job they got phones and drones sorted or they'd make no money next year

Seems more up in the air than I thought, but it's certainly not something I'd bet on:

Now the current processors are actually designed by Centaur Technologies, a CPU design house that is a subsidiary of VIA Technologies. VIA was granted the x86 license by Intel for a period of 10 years in 2003, during which it could make x86 based processors and sell them. However, while that period expired in 2013, Intel had also included a 3 year grace period during which negotiations to renew the contract could be had. Anyone without a math handicap would notice that this grace period expires in 2016. The current status of the licensing agreement between VIA and Intel is not known.

Personally, I doubt they renegotiated given their low market share.
