Always been in the plans. I'm more curious about the next "season" and the possibility of landing on planets with atmospheres. ED has had an actual plan unlike SC That just keeps moving the bar further and further and never getting close to it.

So, I've decided to do some deep space traveling. I started at the empire HQ and now I headed the opposite direction to the other side of the universe. I've run into more players that way than you could imagine. Ran into a pack of guy in FDS ambushing people. Never seen that before. Mind you, I have no weapons or shields for maximum jump range. Interesting trip so far. I also need a much better ship. I'm in a diamondback scout now. No way I could have fought them guys off. Luckily, they just want cargo from everyone.

Plus they plan to keep updating it for another 8-9 years, i was hoping they would of had multicrew in by end of last year but shit happens.

And yeah i believe they ask the community what they would like and pick the most popular ones which they believe can get done with in each season.

Multi-cannons and lasers come in different flavors: fixed, gimballed and turreted(fully automated). Some missiles are fire and forget or fixed.

I'm not a big fan of dog-fighting either so I do a lot of mining, exploring and space trucking. I get tired of doing one thing, I'll do another or change area in the bubble.

I look forward to more dogfighting, but I like to be able to change it up. Also looking forward to accessing planets with atmospheres in the future too! And hoping that the Thargoids will arrive sooner than later to kick off the battle for the galaxy or contest over an area of stars/systems. I haven't played this game in months...might be time I get back into it.

One option would be to always have an advanced discovery scanner on your ship so everytime you jump into a system you "honk" and continue on your journey or if you're also equipped with a detailed surface scanner, scan the better paying worlds like waterworlds, earth likes, terraformables... Turn all info in to the station, collect rewards and your rank will go up.

I'm having fun with 4 X S1 Rail Guns and two S2 Pulse lasers on a stripped out ASP Explorer, just taking assassination missions. When the 2.3 patch hits, the ASP Scout is getting a buff (bigger power plant I think) and it's going to make an awesome heavy-ish fighter.

Me too. I don't think they need to draw out any more "mystery" or whatever with them, it'll just get stale. I want to see them make a move.

Any day now. No set time, but it could happen as early as now. It's in Beta v4 currently and overall it's a good patch, but there's some issues here and there that need fixing. They're not gameplay impacting issues though so.. any time now.
