There is a problem that we have not found a solution to.

1. When the card is placed IN a computer and power is supplied TO the card, see attached photograph THE COMPUTER WILL NOT BOOT
2. The ONLY way to get the computer to boot is disconnect the power to the card
3. The monitor IS plugged into the ON BOARD graphics

I also attached the flash tool that you can flash under windows.

1. Launch into window desktop

2. Right click to run as administrator of Atiwinflash

3, Press "Save" to save current VBIOS.

4. Press "load" button to load the target VBIOS.

5. Press "Program" button start to flash the VBIOS.

Done and then reboot the PC.

After booting into windows , please switch the VBIOS to another position and then repeat step 1 to 5 to try again.

Thanks.

I think the lesson here unfortunately is-

NEVER NEVER flash the bios on your video card unless you are SURE the new bios you are flashing is compatible.

Like I have said somewhere else. I have flashed the bios on my r9 290 for UEFI support, but the bios i flashed to it, was for a XFX card, which is the same as mine but with a newer UEFI compatible bios.

yes it uses a intel chip. not a fan of amd cpus.

What is the model of the motherboard and the model of the processor?

At this rate it appears it would be another week before anything positive is accomplished. I'm glad sapphire did respond.

I don't know how to do that double quote sorry people!

you hit the multquote button on each quote then where you enter your reply you hit insert quotes.

the 4770K should have an IGP on it, find out the motherboard and I can get a manual on it

If it's a dual bios card, why did you flash the second one after the first failed?

Ok @SanityGaming and @JR1- since you have no Built in IGP, You will need to either get a cheap card so the machine can have a display or replace the board with a newer model and then attempt to restore the old one.

Ok I have another graphic card, and that was in the computer BUT as I said with the card in that needs the bios doing the computer will not boot...... :(

Ok if you have a 4770K machine we need the motherboard info off of that one, if it is a 5690 or w/e it is plug the working card in the first pcie slot and then plug the non working card in the second pcie slot, hook monitor up to the working card. Turn it on and use sapphires procedures.

Please read post 129. From that post I gathered that the card that needs flashing is causing issues. He states if the card is slotted w/o power the PC will boot with other video means. Once power connections are plugged into the card that needs flashed, the PC won't boot. At least that was my take on it. I would suspect at this time, only another card is going to get his PC back up and running normally.

How is there an axe to grind when you are telling him how to flash a card, than when the power plugs are in the card, will not allow the PC to boot? Just stating the obvious here. Pretty sure somewhere on page 4 they used another card to boot and the card does not show up.

Not helpful, I said my son has "learning difficulties"

The question was at your son, and I know he has learning difficulties. Just wondered why he flashed the second one when the first failed, it was a valid question, I was just interested. No need to get defensive is there.
