Ryzen is still on pre-order and Intel prices have already been slashed, lol. Now we know for sure Ryzen is good, even without the official reviews.

Intel’s enthusiast, mainstream and budget tier processors have received massive price cuts by a certain list of retailers. The price cuts come just a few days after AMD announced their new Ryzen processors that feature highly competitive pricing and great performance numbers.

Thats like everyday prices at microcenter, plus you have to add tax....so its close to normal online prices(which you dont always have to pay sales taxes on).

Maybe now the Intel fanboys will understand why they need to exited about Ryzen too. :D
Spoiler i7 7700k will do better in gaming.
But what you people need to understand is that the market was ruled by quad cores.
No reason for developers to spend extra effort to optimize for benefit of AMD FX series.
But looks like Ryzen is totally worth it.
If only AMD had native quad core silicon and not just lower binned octa core with disabled cores at the same TDP as i7 7700.

Over at Microcenter, we can see a large array of Intel processors that have undergone insane price cuts. We are looking at processors from the Kaby Lake, Skylake and even Haswell generations that are going at discounts of up to $300 US. Following is a list of all the processors that have seen price cuts at the retail site:

The only nuance to the alternative news yet again is they make these snazzy titles for clickbait. This is a microcenter price cut not intel.

I am currently waiting for this god I hope they dump the 6950X for me to buy!

Interesting, Scan had the 7600k at 238.99 a week ago, it is currently priced at 229.99, if that's all they can manage it won't make much difference to anyone who bothers making comparisons.

Right, after the cheek you gave me (when defending @Xzibit) you then post a link to a WCCFTech article. Bud, you're fucking priceless.

Also the article you link to clearly states multiple times it's a retailer action, not an Intel directive. Intel have not cut prices - your title is very, very misleading.

I'm quite sure they may well cut their prices but they have not yet, otherwise we'd see it universally. Here's the WCCFtech quotes:

The last quote (bold section) is an assumption made by WCCFtech because the next words confirm that it is the retailers action.

But then again, you are quantum in name so you can perhaps change your spin at any time
Oh dear, you DO have your knickers in a twist there, tsk. I've quoted wccftech - like other members do - and yet you somehow see this as an "issue" when I do it. It really beggars belief. So, why were you going on about wccftech in the other thread, exactly? It wasn't at all relevant to what I had to say. I haven't bothered reading your reply there yet btw, as I know it's only going to be annoying.

Here's @P4-630's thread about NVIDIA, quoting wccftech. Perhaps you might wanna have a go at him too about it, ya know, like for consistency? Funny, no one has a go at him about it, yet when I link to this very same article in my post about my graphics card, the usual idiots come out frothing at the mouth. I mean seriously, talk about double standards and rank stupidity. You didn't say anything in that instance though, just making the point.

www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/nvidia-gtx-1080-ti-reportedly-launching-in-march-currently-in-production.230764/

You're right about it being a retailer action, so I've modified my OP and thread title. My bad, got confuddled somehow, so shoot me. No spin intended.

And yeah, qubit's my name and quantum's my game! :D Heck, I might just make that into a slogan...

That's why I love living in a state that has a Micro Center not too far away. To me a quad core for 200 or less is not out of the ordinary nor is it for anyone else who has been to Micro Center .I remember the 4690 K was selling for $170 or $180, and the K-series i7's are usually right around $260-$280..... never mind when they have a sale and it turns out that if you buy the motherboard too it's basically free :).

But it will be nice for Internet prices to drop two since no one likes driving more than They have to

Everyone wins now, yay AMD

Everyone wins until you read stuff like this coming out already...........

post from pmurphy8811 on pcgamen ...... from article

"AMD are still scared Intel will outspend, outflank and outmuscle Ryzen"

pmurphy8811
It's upsetting to have to say, but should be said. As an IT Director I have already been approached by an Intel representative to discuss the "special promotions" and "Incentive rebates" that they are willing to offer me for purchasing exclusively Intel powered servers. I was not well received when I explained that I would not be purchasing anything until I see the benchmarks of the new Ryzen (naples) core and compare the cost-to-performance ratio. It was at that point they made it very clear that they would go to great lengths from a financial standpoint to incentivize me to NOT purchase AMD chips.

These are the tactics that were used back in the day that AMD had feared would be used again. Intel offered "loyalty rebates" and other clever promotions to hide the fact that they were paying customers to lock out the competition. I sincerely hope that other IT Directors and all in IT in general do what's best for the industry and choose based off of what's best for the consumer and their environment. The rebates are nice and all, but if we continue to hurt AMD for a small rebate, we destroy AMD's ability to compete and enable Intel to continue their "Tick-Tock" releases and oppressive pricing.

Be aware folks, Intel is scared and is already looking to use their weight and $'s to NOT out innovate, but to obstruct competitions ability to enter the marketplace. Why else would they be contacting and attempting to "Incentivize" customers well before the launch of AMD's server chips in Q2-Q3?

Sorry for the rant, but these past few years from Intel have been terrible from a pricing and tech innovation standpoint. I would hate to see AMD get the shaft after building such a great product over the last 5 years with the help of Jim Keller and AMD architect Mike Clark. They did such a great job turning the CPU division around it should have the ability to be judged on its own merits and not locked out by Intel to prolong the CPU stagnation in the market.

Unfortunately Manufacturer price cuts rarely trickle down to the consumer where I am, and if they do, they are only a percentage of what it should be.
Retailers have a habit of taking advantage of them to increase profits for a period.

dude its snowing outside, there is no spring here in norway until around may

There is plenty of spring here in Texas. I haven't seen snow this year and we only had one day this "winter" that dropped below 30F. It is currently over 60F during the night.
