You don't have to get a 4K display just cause you upgrade to a card that's capable of doing such. Till this day, people say, "that's overkill". Lets say you bought a GTX 1080 and you plan on gaming at 1080p 60fps. You'll get all types of negative feedback saying, "that's stupid", "you're not using it to tue best of its abilities". All types of stuff. They'll be the ones upgrading GPU's while you're still using a GTX 1080. You could you have a better experience by using a display the supports a higher refresh rate and or a higher resolution but it's YOUR computer, not theirs.
My GTX 1060 runs GTA V just fine in 4K on Ultra settings but I still prefer to play in 1080p for Dem frames!
