All I/O cutouts on cases are standard size.

The plastic cover around the I/O ports on the mobo is purely cosmetic to give the inside of your case a cleaner look.

Choose whichever best suits your budget is what I always say.

If and Intel chip is better at overall performing than an AMD chip and is also cheaper, then go Intel. No need for anyone to be a "fan boy".
Personally, I am a just a fan boy of getting the most for my money. I don't care what the brand is as long as it performs as advertised.

That all aside, I would wait for official Ryzen benchmarks and real-world results to release before I were to make a purchase at this time.

EDIT: One more thing. You have a really good processor right now, but a "mediocre" GPU. I would advise looking at a GPU upgrade first if I were shopping.
