[Solved] Temps before a palit gtx 1060 6gb dual throttles

Im testing my casefans on my pc how loud they are an click sound,hum

What im having trouble finding answers to is max temps before my palit gtx 1060 6gb dual throttles because of the temps

I have seen someone say 83 degress at it will throttle

It's also good to know so i can oc my card, to do that what stress test is the best so i can keep turning fans higher to get it to stay under the temps where it throttles but still be silent

When i reach an oc where i have to make the fans spin so much that they are to loud, i know im at MY limited to how noisy i want my card, i hop it beyond 1900mhz at best no less than 2000mhz

i would go for the 83C but its a max the card will start to throttle a bit before that.. like when it gets near 80C.. if its the same as my palit cards 83 C is a factory default.. using the palit thundermaster software you can set it to go higher.. i think the 83 C is a pretty safe throttle point..

how its you case inside, could you provide a photo?

Temps are affected by cable management, case fans setup and also fan curves, so your case its well known for a quite great cooling so your fan setup might be a thing to discuss and also your fans,

another thing to consider, a repaste on the video card, not because a problem, just as a prevention and correction on the crappy paste most manufacturers use, they apply a lot of paste, regular paste and also during the travel of the video card, transportation during shipment could break the bond between paste and surfaces, i always repaste my video cards and all new hardware with pre-applied paste...

The Pascal chips actually downclocks already at temperatures over 50C and than reduce the boost cocks in steps as temperatures rise...what are your gpu temps under load currently?

You are no where near the throttling point, but if you want a higher oc you will have to put up with higher noise.

temps are way to high for a card with an aftermarket cooler like the one you have...

not atm, if temps allow it (or power limit what ever comes first) it boosts (3.0) up to a high speed than the rated boost clock of 1708 mhz

all my case fans are not running in the same range BUT they all can run at under 200 rpm and up to 1400-1500 rpm (that's why i have a asus mb) I can run them at higher speed but i don't need to

Hi there! Do you know why my gtx 1060 it is now idling about 48 degrees and befere cleaning my pc was idling about 32-35 degrees?

It's not for sure, most board alarms trigger at speeds like that, he needs to crank it up.

OC the card till you notice
Frames are dropping considerably or locks/bsods. You could always try OCCT, Kombustor or Furmark and monitor the temperatures. Even Unigen Heaven/Valley

at default the cards will start to throttle down around 80 C.. but using the palit Thunder master tuning tool its all adjustable.. fan curves can be set to suit your own requirements so can the throttle points.. 75 C is fine but at the expense of more fan noise you could lower it..

i do own a pair of palit cards and do use the Thndermaster software so i do know how it all works.. unlike some in this thread..
