Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
I dare say you can accomplish your system goals in a more, well...less wasteful, manner than buying two cards and putting a fps limit on it... ;)

i am currently wasting my money on buying toy RC cars.. when my priorities change as they often do.. i may waste a bit more money on my PC by ditching my room heater 980TI cards and buying a single palit 1080TI.. i wont have to frame rate cap that.. he he

my latest toy rc car purchase.. a used traxxas xo1 i just paid £400 quid for.. naught to 60 mph in 2.2 seconds and a top speed of 100 mph plus.. after that it becomes an airplane.. :) something else i wont use to its full potential.. he he..

I've been running an 295X2 in crossfire (so 4 x GPUs) for the past year or so and have had no issues since AMD have been on top of their driver releases. Sure there are times when a new release doesn't have a profile, but they've started to be really good at sorting it out quickly.

I would of course suggest to get whatever you want OP, but I would be following suit and getting 2 x 1080ti's...

I hope you guys are not recommending SLI GTX1080 Ti specifically and not SLI in general, because from my personal experience over the last month of testing, SLI GTX970 is a killer combo for 1440p and in SLI supportive games it's faster than both GTX980 Ti and GTX1070 in average and especially maximum FPS (with the exception of minimal FPS where GTX980 Ti and GTX1070 often win).

There are rare situations where I would call for SLI... 4K is one of them, or extremely high FPS needs. I wouldn't SLI GTX 970's at 1440p either... that 3.5GB of VRAM can get eaten up in some titles with the Ultra (and some AA) settings (where people would typically run the game with that much horsepower that res).

Or.... just PM the guy and ask so you don't have to post OT in the thread. ;)

If you have a GSYNC panel, I wouldn't recommend getting a second GTX 1080 Ti. What GSYNC will do is lower your GPU usage if it is enabled. So you won't even see the full potential of your 1080 Ti's and you'd just be wasting your money.

I have an Asus ROG Swift PG278Q paired with GTX 1080 SLI.

Read the reviews SLI is worthless you get lower FPS using it in some games.

I say its not worthless but your not guaranteed a performance increase especially if you live on the theory it will double your performance because you have two. If you could get 80% more out of the 2nd card Id say hell ya but the reality is a lot of games will not come close to be worthwhile.
