people say I should put windows on a SSD and use the HDD for storage. but I am not quite sure how to do that.
One method: Use the Windows 10's File History to create a System Image Backup. Be sure to create a System Repair Disc or a Recovery Drive as part of the process. Restore the system image to the SSD.
How to create an image backup in Windows 10 and restore it, if need be

Boot off the SSD and make sure that your Windows setup is intact. If everything is okay (it should be), then delete the Windows partition on the hard drive and expand the hard drive's partition to use the free space.
I was looking at 250Gb size the 128gb are sold out on amazon or ships in 6 weeks, I am hoping 128GB SSDs will be enough space for windows 10 with all the updates and all I don't see why it wont. I was looking at the Samsung pro ones but there are cheaper ones then that though but are they good?
128GB should be sufficient, but if you can afford a 240-275GB SSD, get one (better to have more space than you need instead of not enough). Samsung Pro and EVO are nice. Also look at Crucial MX300, Kingston HyperX Savage, Plextor M7V, and WD Blue.
