The desexualizing women claim fits like a glove. Then again, so does having men doing the facial expressions motion capture for the female characters in the game. I'm thinking Bioware will fix it...

PC Gamer http://www.pcgamer.com/mass-effect-andromeda-review/ did a very balanced review, rightfully pointing out the negatives, but balancing the positives. And I was struck by a couple points made in the last two paragraphs which sum things up nicely:
"Here's the thing, though: in the end, Andromeda still manages to be more than the sum of its parts."
and writes of being "aware that when I'm in Mass Effect's zone a lot of these dry pros and cons don't seem to matter as much. This has always been a series about getting under your skin"..."where all those disparate elements, good and bad, cohere to an adventure that feels like it is happening to you. Andromeda can still do that."

This is what I pointed out earlier. Can the game make you feel as if you are in a grand adventure like the previous ones? After 15 hours, I can say yes it does. :)

With all the negative reviews I was put off from buying it, but thanks to your post I think I will get it this weekend. For me the story and the immersive effect is what is the most important and why the Mass Effect trilogy is my favorite set of games ever.

It seems ME:Ä turned out to be exactly what I had predicted: a single player RPG with an MMO complex and some identity crisis.

This is not the ME that I had hoped for. Probably will still enjoy it, but memorable.. nah.

This is just DA:Inquisition all over again with a futuristic setting.

After putting a bunch of hours into this I really like it. I like the story, I have not experienced any strange facial animations since the start of the game. (I did witness at the start some very odd facial animations...more goofy than strange I suppose.) I have not seen any weird crap at all in many hours. Makes me wonder if it was just the start of the game that has this crap. Or I wonder if some people make crazy faces when creating their characters and post screenshots passing it off as poor animations? lol I know I'm reaching here.

Once I was able to fly where I want things just kept getting better and better. I'm really enjoying this game.

The most frustrating issue I've had so far is when the dialogue control gets messed up and it auto selects things for you. This has caused loops sometimes so you end up having to sit through the same conversation 3-4 times... luckily you can skip through it by pressing the space bar, but even so...

it just occurred to me that Bioware kind of missed a big opportunity when they made Andromeda. this could have been the game where we could have had the choice of playable races.

I wont think my 960 will do 1440p but I think it will do 1080p at 30-50fps my guess I do have a 4k monitor.

It is definitely worth it content-wise and fun factor. This will probably be about a 100 hour game. Not many studios are giving that kind of content and story in SP anymore.

To give you an idea about waiting or not: I am running 1920x1090 with 980Ti. I'm averaging 58-59fps all maxed out. It is using 3.9GB of VRAM, and system RAM it is about 8 GB.

I play it at 4k HDR at Ultra settings with a GTX 1080 and have no issues at all. Game runs nice and smooth. I have no idea what my fps are and will test it tonight but I do not see any stuttering or slow down at any time.

Well i finished the main story and most of the side quest.

Over view.
Yes most of the humans are ugly and 99.9% of asari have the same face . Yes there are some weird/ bad facial animation and animations in general, and glitches here and there but nothing game braking to me.
I dint find the story to be meh or bad, i personally enjoyed the story and side quest. Gotta remember this only game 1 and only part of the story. I assume this going to be a trilogy.

This game is big and honestly there is so much you can do that i personally cant replay again, is just to much to do to do all over again. same as dragon age 3, skyrim and fallout 4 there was so much to do i couldn't get my myself to replay again.

The combat is pretty fun and solid. you have so many options of play styles and class customization. My favorite 2 companions was Drack and Cora that's one mean team with me as a sniper.

The graphics are actually pretty good. not the human models obviously lol but the planets terrain, sky, particle effects, weapons and skill/powers look good and don't forget the tons of dialogue it has.

I was really worried about the game when i played the trial but i'm honestly glad i gave it a chance.

the regular game is worth it the deluxe i don't think it is since you get a few items you replace rather quickly.

I give it a 7/10.

I have to agree, this is well worth it. The Asari all have the same face, no effort involved on their part at all, which is disappointing.

But the story, sheer amount of content, the effects, and game mechanics are all top-notch!

I will say about 7.9/10.

Yeah I'm really really digging the story. It's solid. So many games do not offer much of a story and the more I play this game the more the story grips me. This was totally worth the money.

Back to the fps I'm getting. Looks like it runs between 30 and 44 fps during gameplay. Normally I would be concerned with this but while playing everything looks and plays smoothly so as far as I'm concerned it is a non issue.

I actually feel sorry for the people that bought into the hysterical criticisms and didn't buy. This is an excellent deal, and they are missing out on a fun, long story.
