downloading speeds

hey guys
i have a question about my DL speed. when I do a speed test I get my over 30 mb/s DL as I should,
but when in Steam I DL a game the most I get is 4.2 mb/s.
what is going on?

Mbps is different than actual MBs

For example I have a 150Mbps connection and I download just over 18MB/s

Well no, it's not really, if it's advertised at Mbps then how are they inflating anything? It's the end user who can't differentiate between Mbps and MB/s, I've not seen an ISP inflate them by advertising in kbps have you? At least not for about 10 years anyway when you could still get pathetic speeds like 256k/512k etc lol

I agree with the lingo, and detentions. but via STEAM I am only getting a max of 3.7 MB/S it has been at that as long as I can remember. How come I cannot get any higher DL speed via STEAM?
never mind in reality I am getting my speed

It's like going to the store and instead of a retailer saying our milk cost 4 dollars, instead they would say our milk cost 400 cents, just in reverse, since your ISP is selling the number. You know.....like the buttholes they are
