I have this same model laptop that I bought from Eurocom back in November. They said they would release a unlocked bios to us in due time but it took them this much time to release it. And the only way to update the bios to this newer unlocked bios is for you to ship them the laptop and they would do it in person. They dont send the files to you over email. Rumor over at another forum is that they had to contract the bios work to another person who gave them these types of limitations. I'm guess he/she didnt want his/her work given out for free, I dont blame the person.
Eurocom is known has a very shady company that will overprice their laptop upgrades. I bought my without memory, HD, and OS, I installed everything myself. This laptop model will need a delid on the processor and undervolt, if not the laptop will run at 100C at stock speeds. But I couldnt beat a 20% student discount back in November, total price shipped was $1320 with 6700(non K) and 1070. I installed myself the OS, HD, memory, and installed a 120hz screen myself, see my system specs.
This laptop runs very hot without a delid and undervolt. Most people are not comfortable with doing that. I am, so I delided a 7700k, runs at 4.4ghz at 78C. I bought it because of the killer discount and final price compared with other laptop in the same specs. Overall I am very happy with it but not the company.
