Why shouldn't Nvidia be looking at your computer? Um, because it's your computer. Last time I checked, companies aren't just allowed to use individuals resources without proper notice and permission.

I honestly stopped caring all too much. Let em know even though I do have shit to hide (everyone does), I have yet to figure out how my info is of any use to anyone. And if someone hacks my bank account, I call my bank, and I get stuff restored - one of the big advantages of having to pay for a service, really. With taking away our control of things, they also take responsibility for it. Fine. Have it your way I still know how to make fire if all hell breaks loose.

Its an infinite loop really, on the one hand we want more and more convenience, we also like that convenience to be secure, but we ask of companies and governments to secure a black box. Shit's not gonna work out like that.

What's all this about convenience and security? How are graphics cards (or, by a stretch, Windows) any more convenient than before? Why does Nvidia need my data? They didn't need my data when I had an FX5200 Ultra, or a 6800XT, or any other previous Nvidia card on the list.

I buy something online with my debit card. A few days later it shows up to my house. That's convenience. For that convenience I have to give up some personal info along the way. The company I ordered something from has my debit card info now, and my address. After all, they need a way to get paid for giving me the item I bought from them, and since they're shipping to to me they need to know where to put it. If I want to avoid all that, I could always get paid in paper checks, cash the check at a bank I don't have an account with, pay all my bills by mailing or delivering money orders in person, and if I want to buy something I could always drive to wherever has it and pay with cash. Not too convenient. I fail to see why Nvidia would need to mine my personal data with their graphics cards drivers beyond some gains they stand to make off it. Same thing with Microsoft. Do they need to know I'm making this post right now on TPU? Maybe if they want to shove tech related advertisements my way!

What I don't get is why do people care if google/m$ know you purchased whatever or watched whatever. It doesn't hurt you in anyway. Most of the time it doesn't affect anyone in anyway.
