The owners of the usual FTW are no longer worthy of getting a update vBios?! it is unfair.
Although in principle it is possible to reflash FTW in FTW2, but these are extreme measures.

I am not going to risk messing up my new video card with a BIOS update that might or might not work

Bought a GTX 1070 from Gigabyte back in februar and the thing was defective and i spent 5 weeks trying to find and fix the fault
Gave up returned it to the local shop i bought it from and it took them 3 weeks to get me a refund, ordered a GTX 1080 FTW2 right before easter hoping i would get it before easter

But nope it was out of stock so it was delayed to after easter and its been two and a half months since i ordered the defective GTX 1070
At this point i just want a new video card that actually works! still using my almost 3 year old GTX 970.

Ok , personally I wouldn't go flashing either, my 1070 had clock spikes on the desktop in the beginning, I had one from the first batch.
I kept updating drivers a few months and later-on the clock spikes disappeared luckily, so it was driver related.

Hope you get your card soon then!
Albeit without the "upgraded" memory..:ohwell:

Or maybe it's possible to get a latest one with the faster memory?
In my country you can return a product for no reason within 2 weeks..

Anyways it's a huge boost from a 970. :)

I dont care if its 100 GHz faster i just want a video card that works so i dont feel like my Asus PG279Q and the 5 new games that i bought was a waste of money

Since i live in Denmark it will be a few weeks untill new stuff gets here which means if i return my FTW2 to get the new one it will be weeks before the new card shows up

And thats weeks with my old GTX 970 which cant run much of anything in 1440P and i am sick of the GTX 970 and i am sick of waiting for the GTX 1080 FTW2 i ordered almost two weeks ago!

Edit: like it was said earlier there is always something better out there or on the way
If you wait for the next thing big thing you will never get anything

Why on earth would you spend any time at all trying to 'fix' a new card?

Because the fault was so random that i thought it was something else in my system that was wrong
The GTX 1070 would at random crash at random for random reasons with no rhyme or reason

Tried all the Nvidia drivers i could find i tried over and under clocking and volting the card, tried updating the motherboard and the VBIOS tried using another PCI-E slot

Tried removing all the Gigabyte motherboard software as i was told that could casue the crashes

Tried bumping the Vcore on both the CPU and GPU and i tried multiple PCI-E cables and NOTHING worked!

Gave up and went out to a friend and we tried it on his machine and it did exacty the same thing there but again it took a few hours before at random it decided to crash

At that point i got fed up and returned the card asking for a refund which i got after they had the time to look at the card, never found out what was wrong with it but i know thats the last time i will ever buy anything from Gigabyte
