For the last few months I've been following a used parts site that occasionally has some good deals. I wanted to buy a laptop for some basic stuff (learning html, css, c++, photoshop etc.) The most demanding thing would be 3ds max (but nothing too fancy or demanding). I found a used laptop, but don't know if I should go for it and how much should I bid on it.
The specs are:
Acer aspire
intel core i7-3610QM CPU 2.30Ghz
17.3 led panel 1600x900
1000 gb HDD
8gb ddr3 memory
intel hd graphic 4000
hdmi,2 x usb,2 x usb 3.0, web camera, wireless, dvdrw, etc...
The battery last's about 2 hours.

Looks good to me. You don't need dGPU for your purposes. It would have nice to have a Nvidia GPU for 3ds max but it's entirely optional.

If you get serious about 3ds max, you will be looking at my rig.
