Choosing PSU

Greetings!

Recently i bought a new GPU and run into a problem of power supply shortage. My old PSU simply can't handle it anymore. (Just in case - its 408w (520 total) Cooler Master, it's really old. It have 19A on +12V which is not enough for RX 480 if i understand it properly). I've bought a new 750w and it was bad. I have to admit - i'm a total newbie when it comes to hardware and learned the hard way that cheap psu are no go. (Just in case you interested - i got pc shutdown and emergency reboot under any moredate load - 3d applications\games.)

Here's my current specs:
Mboard: AsRock B75 pro3-M (Bios ver. 1.09\Latest)
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
GPU: Asus ROG STRIX RX 480 8GB Gaming
CPU: Intel i5-2500 ~3.3Ghz
OS: Win 10 x64 Home

After that i did a little research and made a list of potential good psu's. I'm sure theres a more competent people then me around here so i'd like you to look at that list and help me choose something that will handle my system 100%. P.S I'm not gonna overclock anything. Also most likely not gonna buy any new GPUs for 2-3 years at least. So price\quality is preferable. I'm a bit short on cash. Thanks in advance!
Im sorry for my crappy english, not a native speaker. Also i hope it's okay to post such topics. I'm just really desperate =(

Here's the list:

Corsair AX760
Corsair HXi 750W
Corsair RMi 750W

I'd probably scratch the Seasonic X650/X750, they only have a five year warranty and are from 2009. Not bad, but they usually cost the same as newer models.

If you're not worried about warranty, get whichever is the cheapest. If you are short on cash, get a 550W model, that'll be more than enough.

A quality 500 watt PSU is more than enough.

No, don't waste your money on a Platinum rated PSU unless you will be running your GPU at max 24/7. It is more efficient than a Gold Rated PSU

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/80_Plus

but really 2% better efficiency on a Platinum rated PSU versus a Gold rated PSU doesn't make a significant difference on the power bill for most people.

Those C sonic units can be pretty pricey as someone mentioned earlier. For around the same price you can get a new 650 W 80+ gold rated modular EVGA G1 unit.
Thats what id buy if i needed a psu now

Pick any of three that you like. Coloring, price, and attractiveness all considered.

Which one? Of the three I'd get the Corsair, if the price is similar.

I'd get Corsair as well. Currently I have the RM650x, bought last black Friday, didn't get the RM650i because it didn't worth it here at time.

I never bought a Seasonic, not because i didn't want to or anything, just.. stars never aligned :)
So can't comment on them, although articles/reviews about them paint a pretty clear picture.

I -can- comment about the rest though:

- Don't buy anything Corsair, unless it's an AIO. And even then, only if you want some moderate price/performance value or ease of use.
- Don't buy EVGA unless you have cables and accessories galore. You will end up ordering extras. I had to for OCing, i had to in order to connect PWM fans as straight DC, i had to in order to.. you get the idea.
- Buy BeQuiet because so far, i haven't had any PSU with a better material build quality and because so far, i haven't had any PSU that offered as many accesories as BeQuiet does (all the problems i faced after my current EVGA PSU, wouldn't have had them with my old BeQuiet. Should never have gifted it to my bro, lol). And if you don't care about accesories, you should care about build quality.

When you've held a BeQuiet in one hand and an EVGA in the other.. you'll understand :)

Lastly, at gold/plat rating, the differences in potential are really minimal, don't let the reviews influence you. I actually regret purchasing the one in my sig for the reasons outlined above. YMMV of course :)

( to be frank, EVGA is generally a bit of a rip off in my book.. typical eastern-manufactured products, except hey, company's based in Germany.. wow, what a difference [not] )

this is THE power supply to buy IF your in the know ;) You GOT to trust a PSU maker with a name like "NEW" o_O
& for less than $30, you cant go wrong, + the failure rate is BARELY over 49%. all that & manufactured in a sketchy, middle of nowhere Asian "factory". it only needs Troy Mclure to back it and Seasonic is done for

I'd get the RM650i.
Seasonic X650 is an older design.
Cooler Master v650 might be good but it's not that well known.

I currently use the corsair RM550x, EVGA 550 G2 and Seasonic G sereies 550 in my systems. I previously used the seasonic X650 but it failed twice so I returned it. Out of the 4 I tried I like the RM550x and EVGA 550 G2 the most.

There are always failures in every company.

As long as you don't pick a random brand like "iAsian six-star Golden PSU", you will be fine.
