As was already mentioned previously Polaris bios editor will allow you to see all the values you want and compare bios's.

The Sapphire is the upper one.
So, both have the same voltages and the same clocks.

Their diference is just that the Sapphire draws 1 A and 5 W less than the Asus Strix...
This minimal difference could not be handled by my PSU.
That is why i was discarting the temperature point you made.
No need to bash me.

I have a very good psu and my strix graphics card also did not work very well with the bios 1411. and if it is overclocked, I easily pass this core speed

yeap, i have been confirming the same.
Some PCB parts possibly can't handle its temperatures or its voltages.

I have been running the Asus Strix 1360 MHz one and it's perfect. i would recommend it
I left the BIOS link in a couple posts above.
Cheers.

hmm, hex says that its for a card with XTR binning and polaris bios editor says its 8Gb

I don't thinks that for the Gaming X 580 4Gb, Looks more like a Gaming X + 8Gb

I just checked as well and this is definitely the 8gb bios. Do not install on a 4gb!

I don't and didn't care to bash you , you will do and think what you like , what I'm suggesting takes .5 mins to check your on about spending time and money on PSUs ,good luck and carry on.

I'll leave this here though

Hi all,

I have the Sapphire Nitro+ OC RX 480 8GB (the 1342mhz version) and was wondering which RX 580 bios I should try flashing, ensuring that all display ports etc work as they should?

Appreciate your help in advance :)

The one the OP used seems to be the best.
I also took care about the ports.
Search for those cards

So, this far in the game, is the sapphire BIOS still the best for for the XFX RX RS cards? Or have we discovered a better compatible bios?

Some one have to test if stock rx580 ASUS STRIXX its stable, it has lower power consuption i think..

And in future we can test Sapphire Pulse rx580 bios to.

Hi guys, well I register to confirm and help If anybody need (I not speak english native) - I have a Nitro Sapphire RX 480 the base clock 1306 Mhz - OC 1342 Mhz - I flashed with the Sapphire Nitro Bios of the first post ((( https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/191262/sapphire-rx580-8192-170320 ))) - And works OK - I use as usual MSI Afterburner need to apply +42 of voltage to get good stability (still testing but, no problems at the moment) with less, have random crashes not hangs but games crash, or when open GPU-Z freeze so put +7 then +12 and well finally +42 and works OK.-
The Real Voltage at the end with +42 it's 1.16v

The ASIC Quality of the GPU it's 71.7%

I Change a bit the FAN Curve to improve the noise at idle (25/ 28°) - The max temps I have its 70/71° for the Core and 81° for the VRM - Very safe and good without vertical sync, in different games, Overwatch, Andromeda, Paragon - With Vsync in my case 60 FPS get 62/65° in the core and 73° at the VRM.-
I install the last driver for RX580 - Left a few screens.-

TEMP / FAN

20 / 30
50 / 50
60 / 60
70 / 75
75 / 85
80 / 100

the reason seemed not to be the temperature, it could have been the undervolt or my crap psu not handling it.

aGeoM is everything ok with the Strix 1411 MHz BIOS?

Couldn't be better. :)

Low voltage, cool temps, and not so noisy.

Can you tell us your ASIC?
GecKoTDF's is lower than mine.

BTW, looking at your GPU-Z...
You are at 1360/2000, those are the ones i also have, it's safe for sure but according your GPU-Z seems like you flashed the card but didn't reinstall the drivers or reset the WattMan values.
Because you are at 1360 not 1411 as you would entend it (?)
You flashed for 1411 but you are currently running at 1360. :)

I put it in the post but it's 71.7% - I continue making some test, and discovery some flickering running at 1411 Mhz - So I decide to try with 1400 Mhz It's a good improvement too with the original bios can't go more than 1360 mhz - At the moment With 1400 Mhz don't have any rare things and the temps improve 3° - I going to test the stability that way if works fine, start to down the voltage and see the final result -

Kind of at a loss here, the Sapphire BIOS on my XFX rx480 really worked like crap. However, I used the newer XFX 580 bios on my card, and I was able to hit 1450. BUT benchmark scores were lower. Really confused here.

What's the difference between XTX AND XTR? Seems like there's 2 Polaris 580 chips.

Which version of GPU you have? and which it's the "new" bios?
You can check if is not throttling ?

I'm on AS04 (1411/2000) testing 1360 for 24/7, with low voltage. Watt-tool shows my used settings and GPU-Z to show actual voltage and PowerDraw on load. Max temp 73º on Superposition very good compared with 480 BIOS.

Hi everybody, is this possible to do on a 4GB card. I have an XFX RX480 RS 4GB version, and i am wondering is it possible to flash it to one of the RX580 4GB versions. I cant seem to find any 4GB BIOS in techpowerup BIOS database.

Thanks! :)
