Getting a higher clocked Kaby Lake would be somewhat faster than a stock 6700k. My 7600k @ 5GHZ beats a 7700k stock.
Well duh it should beat a 7700k at stock though I doubt you would appreciate how much more smoothly a hyperthreaded system works as things dont lock up under heavy loads.

Bit off topic our second 7700K easily hit 5.0Ghz @ 1.3 VCORE without any AVX offset. This is way below 1.4VCore according to SiliconLottery.com

According to Siliconlottery.com "As of 2/23/17, the top 13% of tested 7600Ks were able to hit 5.2GHz or greater."
OP yours seems like a keeper for sure.

I often compare CPU samples to review sites and their vcore during benchmarking e.g. (anandtech 7600k Review)

Ohhhhh, maaaaan. Your Eve online fleet battle screenshot brings back memories...

Sadly, boring memories. (Sitting behind a station shield...)

The difference is minimal without HT, I'm sure many here will agree. High single core performance across all cores will always remain king, while hyperthreading shows to be less of a performance benefit than extra physical cores. In other words, 2c4t < 4c4t and overclocked, 4c4t is on par with 4c8t.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)

until you run something that uses more than four threads.. ;)

500 mhz (when you alre already talking 4500 mhz) wont make up for the four extra threads. Yes, you are correct in that HT isnt 1:1 scaling with logical cores, but an ~11% clock increase wont cut it. ;)

And then you can overclock that 8t part too sooo.... ;)

Benchmark Scores well I've fried a 775' P4 12 years ago, that counts?
I upgraded from 2500k to 3770k in 2016 and even delidded for 4.6ghz but its so frustrating seeing the performance here as my build is only equivalent to 6700k at stock.
Pointless, you are comparing two plataforms that have like 4 years at least in difference... what else do you expect from an overclocked and delidded chip? to wake you up every morning and wash your car? C'mon....
