The Z-Machine K650WP from Zalman is a membrane keyboard that comes in at a price point where there is really no competition from branded mechanical keyboards. At the same time, it offers a waterproof design, dedicated volume-control buttons, and an internal aluminum plate for structural rigidity, making it great value for the money.

Many, many thanks! Personally I feel mechanical keyboards to be overrated and over-represented, so it's nice to see a proper review of a "normal" keyboard.

Apart from the caps, this looks really, really nice. I got a bunch of these (smart card version of my favourite keyboard ever) but without the palm rest for €1 each, and this looks to be pretty close to those (apart from the keycaps). Lovely. It doesn't even look stupid!

I can understand your sentiment, that's why I am trying to cover different types of keyboards. Even if the vast majority are mechanical keyboards, I will try and include some uncommon form factors such as the ergonomic ones, the small 40% etc else it can get monotonous. In the end it depends on what I can get from companies and what companies send for reviews. That said, something coming up soon is drastically different :)

I have always found Zalman products to be a bit overpriced. Never bad but not truly good enough to justify their price, as there is always something better for the same amount of money, or something just as good for less.

I would still take a Logitech or a Microsoft keyboard over this. The Microsoft Wired 200 is pretty cheap and has quite a soft feeling when typing which also makes it rather quiet.

Awesome review as always man. :)
Going to buy the Zalman keyboard just to have around as backup, at that price how can you go wrong? :lovetpu:

Probably use it with the guest room computer.

yea, Topres are pretty OK. I like mine. :)

But you can't get a Topre board for $26 bucks. That Zalman is a WINNER at that price point!

Dont think you understand this topic man. I wish my keyboard had option to work over PS2. Unfortunately its one thing that is my beloved Novatouch missing. Apart having nice keycaps but already got 2x sets ordered so its gonna be fixed.

But any other new keyboard I get must have PS2 option.

Hey VSG, it would be nice to review an extremely cheap non name brand mechanical keyboard and compare it to the Zalman ZM-K650-WP.

dont think you understand what sarcasm is. I really could care less about your novatouch /ontopic: The adapters are a weak spot, they go bad fast.
