60-75Hz ~5ms Freesync or 144Hz/1ms no sync?

Budget is tight,obviously. The prices in India are just ridiculous. I need a GPU too. I want something for Warface, mostly, which is an nvidia title. But I can't resist the smooth motion of FREESYNC. My question is - which is gonna be a better investment in general? I do like to play AAA FPS single player games too - like the Far Cry series, COD etc. But right now I'm addicted to this horribly lag-infested, poorly latency-compensated drug called Warface by Crytek. Now, I know that a simple GTX 1050 is good-enough for it, and coupled with a 144Hz monitor it will do just fine. But CAN Freesync bring the same if not better quality gameplay experience with, say, 48-75 Hz @5ms? If yes, then I probably will get a 24" 1080p one and an RX 570 4GB (or 480 4GB?). The 580 4GB isn't available yet. So I will probably wait a bit to see the prices (and reviews too). In the mean time, I wanna know what you think. 60-75Hz Freesync @5ms or 144Hz, 1ms no-sync? If possible offer some video links - I can't find anything that shows what I wanna see.

I don't think a RX570 can't do 144fps in AAA titles @ 1080p anyway.
(someone can correct me if I'm wrong)

Personally if I was buying a RX570 I think I went with that 1080p freesync monitor because I see more fps drops below 60 than over 60fps I think...

If you plan to stick with that 570 for some time I find no point in going for 144hz. Not to mention that if you enable V-sync with 144hz you are going to get a stutter fest in most games since the 570 will most likely run over that 7 ms frametime budget very often.

I haven't made up my mind about the GPU yet. It may be the 480 4GB, 1060(3g, 6g), 580 4GB depending on the price within, say, a month or so. So, nothing is final yet. It's gonna be 1080p - that's the only thing that's decided. While I do want some horsepower for AAA games, it's the smooth motion in warface which I want more. And since that's something which is decided by the PC and monitor both, I wanna know what would be the ideal combo - on a budget. AMD GPU+ 75Hz Freesync @5ms or a 144Hz, 1ms no-sync monitor with a nvidia GPU like 1060 3GB (or a 6GB one if by magic the price drops).

right that's what I am saying too - having sync on @ 60 fps/hz is better than having no sync, but having smooth 144hz/144fps is the best IMO especially for games like farcry where reaction time is part of the gameplay.

-> 144hz no sync - the result is almost the same if you manage your system properly and achieve a constant high FPS. Important is to chose settings that let your system constantly run on 80-100 FPS at least. 144 FPS is not a must, it would just be a tad better, but the sweetspot performance/quality wise is at about 80-100 FPS unless you have a serious high end GPU.

Non-TN 144Hz is way too expensive. The fact that there's only gonna be 3 years warranty puts me off quite a bit. The monitors just know when to fail. I'm leaning towards a modest 75Hz Freesync one, with a 570/580 4GB. I only need the "speed" and "smoothness" in Warface. The 570 4GB will be more than good-enough @1080p. But then, I keep wondering if that aforementioned ~100+Fps would be better, despite no sync. In that case, a GTX 1060 3GB would suffice. But, as you all know, any other AAA titles of the coming years will be barely playable with that. AMD at least has the COD, BF, Hitman etc series covered. And the drivers keep getting better. But that power draw.... It matters a lot here. I just can't decide............

What would be good is a 144Hz 1080p IPS screen. But there are no 144Hz 1080p IPS screens (and be buggered if I know why not as there is a decent market there for this type of panel... but oh well, panel manufacturers say 1440p is min for 144Hz and IPS, so be it :/ ), and the only non TN panels that have high hertz are the VA curved panels.

Also, Freesync is fine if you limit fps to a few frames below max (so about 72fps for a 75 hertz monitor), and may be a good option. Your min hertz also matters, as freesync doesn't double frames like nvidia, it acts just like vsync enabled, and you get a stutter if you go below 30fps/hertz by 1 frame (or whatever the min for the panel is). EDIT : Actually I'm not sure this still applies, just reading up on AMD’s Low Framerate Compensation technology)

Getting a 144Hz is great however if you get 150+ fps in the games you play. You still get screen tears, but if your running at 150-300+ fps, you get less delay in the onscreen image, and even the tears have the half or so of the latest image at that.

If your getting at least the min hertz/fps all the time, and your max is not north of 100fps most of the time, then go freesync. If your regularly above 100fps, go the 144hertz screen.

Well, right now I am on cpu graphics which is barely playable. But I will get a decent card soon, and it IS possible to get >250 FPS @1080p in warface. It's still on DX 9 and not very demanding. I'm thinking LG 24GM79. I has Freesync and 144Hz. Unfortunately it's not available at the local stores. It's TN, but that doesn't bother me much. TN can be good-enough. I'm not planning to do serious photo editing etc, so colour gamut is not in my mind ATM.

It is, but they say the viewing angles aren't good. The AOC G2460VQ6 seems like a better one at similar price.

The PC desk is by my bed. I don't "sit" much
