Killer 3570k @ 4.5Ghz

Hi guys,

I've only just recently picked up a 3570k the other day to piss fart around with and it kinda blew me away!

This thing is doing 4.5Ghz @ 1.064 volts. I find this pretty bloody amazing for a 22nm CPU.

My Kaby Lake CPU cant even beat that. It has to run 1.11v @ 4.5Ghz.

So it got me thinking, can anybody's CPU compete with this sweet little ivy 3570k?

Now I haven't done any testing past 4.5Ghz just yet as all my testing on sandy and ivy CPU's gets done at 4.5Ghz with only a 15 minute stress test run of Realbench. Still I find this CPU very impressive.

I've taken a screen shot just before the 15m was up.

Not bad if I say so myself.

This testing also doesn't have once inch of LLC enabled.

I have considerably worse chip, it needs at least 1.28 V for stable 4.2 GHz with AVX load. It does 4.0 GHz with 1.18 V ... So yeah, nice find.

LOL, I don't consider myself that lucky...

Yeah I had to post something up about this CPU hey. I think its going to be very hard to beat. No CPU of mine has come close.

Hopefully somebody's got something out there that can beat it.

That is awesome. Mine is at 1.35v to hit 4.7Ghz. Never was able to get it Prime95 stable at 4.8 Ghz... that is de-lidded mind you.

That is awesome man. My old 3770k need 1.12v for 4.5ghz 1.355v for 5ghz 1.475v for 5.2ghz and 1.52v for 5.4ghz (5.4 only for single thread benchmark). I think your CPU may scale like mine.

Dammit! Now I've got to try dialing back my volts and GHz as far as possible to see how low I can go. :banghead:

Oh well. Maybe it's a good thing. For example I just realized I could get 4.5GHz stable on all 4 cores with only 1.248V. Which I previously had set to 1.272V @ 4.5GHz.

Anyway...I can barely get 5.0GHz out of it with insane volts(1.656V+). But I don't call it 100% stable above 4.8GHz. I also don't dick around without all 4 cores clocked to the same speed. So I don't know, and honestly don't care, what it'll do on a single core(or however many < 4).

EDIT: So I got that figured out now. Mine will do all 4 cores stable @ 4.1GHz with 1.080V or @ 4.0GHz with 1.048V. Not that I'll EVER be running it that slow. But I had to quench my curiosity as to what it would do with ~1.064V.

Hey buddy,

Your CPU isn't that bad. I've got some 3570k's here that take over 1.3v to get 4.5Ghz stable.

From the testing I've been doing with the few samples I have, getting under 1.2v @ 4.5 is a pretty good CPU.

The average seems to be ~1.25v

With Sandy the average seems to be ~1.3v. I still haven't found a 2500k or 2600k that will do under 1.2v unless somebody can chime in and tell me differently.

Hopefully I will be testing more Sandy's, Haswells, Sky and Kaby Lakes in the future to find the so called perfect CPU.

I'm just glad I found this CPU as I don't think Ivy will get much better than this for my personal reference and the community's.

I've done one before with minimal results. Maybe I didn't do it right.

Besides id rather do it to one that needs a few more volts at this given (4.5) clock speed. I don't think ill f with this one.

Yeah the cooling was with a cheapie I.D. cooling 913X. Ambient was about 18.
