Hello,
I am looking for an AM4 motherboard which will be used with a Ryzen 1600 (non X) CPU. I plan on doing some overclocking; I would like to get it up to 3.7-3.8 GHZ. I will also need 16GB of DDR4 RAM. I am trying to keep the price as low as possible (around $100 for the motherboard if possible). Other general features I am looking for in a motherboard:
- Stability & easy to use BIOS / UFEI.
- Two M.2 slots would be great, but I understand AM4 boards can't run both at full speed and often disable SATA slots when both are in use. Not a huge deal, but since I don't use a DVD drive anymore and I will be switching to M.2 SSDs in the future more than one M.2 can be useful...
- 8 USB ports on the rear.
- mATX or full size ATX. I will consider both form factors.
- Anything else I should keep in mind?
Realistically, what are my options for getting a stable OC at around 3.7-3.8? I was initially trying to get by with a B350 type motherboard but I have seen mixed responses from others. Are there any decent, $100 B350 motherboards that can support such an OC? If not, what are the best low priced x370 boards?
Originally I was looking at these two B350 boards due to their lower prices:
MSI B350M BAZOOKA:

AM4 ASRock AB350M Pro4:

X370 wise, these are the cheapest options I found:
MSI X370 GAMING PLUS AM4 AMD X370:

ASRock X370 Killer SLI/ac AM4 AMD Promontory X370:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...cm_re=x370_motherboard-_-13-157-769-_-Product
Are any of these listed motherboards stable and able to deliver a solid 3.7-3.8 GHZ OC for the Ryzen 1600?
I am not sure what RAM to get for those or other boards. Initially I was looking at the CORSAIR Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2B3000C15:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...r_Memory_Vengeance_lpx-_-20-233-852-_-Product
Is that a decent kit? Again, I'd like to save as much as possible on the RAM. I prefer smaller profile heat spreaders so they don't interfere with a CPU cooler. Any other speeds, latency or manufactures I should look at?
Spec wise this is what my PC has:
EVGA Supernova G3 650
GTX 1070
2x SATA SSD
2-3x HDD
4x case fans, 2x CPU fans
Win 10 Pro
Any advice will be appreciated.
Note: I posted a similar topic last month, but decided to wait for more BIOS revisions/updates so I am hoping the situation has changed.
