Which GTX 1060 manufacturer?

Wasn't really sure if this belonged in the builder's forum or here.

Anyway, I'm planning on upgrading my GPU soon. It will be a GTX 1060 (6GB). Question is which one exactly.

What I care about: noise and cooling.
I know the 1060 is easily cooled but I still like it to be as quiet and cool as possible.

What I don't care about: overclocking, looks, LEDs, accessories/bundle.
I don't care if it is at stock clocks or factory overclocked, and I won't be doing any manual overclock myself either. Too lazy. Gonna leave it to GPU Boost 3.0. :)

So far I've narrowed it down to:
- MSI: GT and Armor;
- Inno3D: Twin X2 and Gaming OC;
- Gigabyte: G1 Gaming;
- perhaps, maybe, probably also Palit: Dual and JetStream.

Any input would be appreciated.

Why not an rx 480? Benchmarks show that after driver updates it closed the gap in performance significantly and with 8gb vs 6gb especially at a higher res I think it might be a betrer investment. If you want a 1060 I've always had success with EVGA and Asus.

All the dual-fan GTX1060s are pretty good. However, if noise is a concern, you'll want to make sure you get one that is the fan idle off feature. I believe the Palit/Gainward/PNY cards don't have this feature, so they are a little loud at idle.

I'd also avoid anything Gigabyte. Their fans are junk, the fail, and their customer service is completely garbage.

Thank most of you all for your input.

I think I should have included a bit more information, for which I apologize.

I have done extensive research. I do it for every electronic device I purchase. I have looked at numerous reviews on websites that I respect and consider to produce the most comprehensive reviews (mostly TPU and Guru3D, but not only), and have even compiled a spreadsheet with the relevant information.

I simply was looking for more personal experience and recommendations from users, which in my opinion can complement reviews.

I might have misunderstood your choices but if it were me I would go with the MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB. Also if you can buy from Newegg it's $239 right now with rebate.

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_1060_Gaming_X/29.html
I'm aware that the MSI Gaming cards are excellent all-rounders, but they are too expensive.
I live in Eastern Europe which means two things: lower wages (compared to Western Europe and the US), and higher prices. Example: the MSI 1060 Gaming has a price around and above $400 (converted from my currency to USD).

Check out the reviews of these cards on lowest temps/noise and then decide .
I find your reply to be insulting. I would not have asked if I didn't have a reason to. Do you reply to all threads with something like "just google it"?

I explicitly stated I have decided on a GTX 1060. I do not subscribe to the "AMD is a better investment because DX12/Vulkan is the future, and also driver updates can help" philosophy. I cannot purchase a product on the notion that it might or should in theory be just as good or better at some point in the future.

Noise isn't critically important, but I would still like to keep it as low as possible.
All Palit cards have the idle fan off feature, including the Dual model. Don't recall about Gainward and PNY.

MSI or INNO3D only
This got me curious, especially the Inno3D part. The latter is generally quite less popular. Because of that and their somewhat low prices, I assumed they might not be as good as the more popular ones.

Can you please elaborate?

Well, why didn't you use google and read some reviews first, it seems to me you didn't do that at all and just ask here first.... "Too lazy"?? :rolleyes:

it looks like the MSI is the more silent card between the Gigabyte G1 and the MSI gaming X.

I explained in the very same post you quoted that I have done research and read reviews. Please actually read the posts before replying to them.

No, Zotac cards are nowhere to be found here. The only two brands I didn't mention that are available are ASUS and EVGA. ASUS seem very overpriced for what they offer. EVGA's cooling and noise levels seem to be mediocre based on reviews that I've read.

A quick update, I found a store that sells Zotac. It seems they are not well stocked so I can't be sure if they will be available when I purchase, but it just might be possible.

Should I consider them before MSI and/or Inno3D?

There aren't many reviews of them, and based on those that I could find the cards are not that well cooled (upper 7x degrees).
