Does this happen often?

So when I bought my 3930k I got a questionabke motherboard, I was dumb an impulse bought it cuz it was $175 but it has no manufacturer name, I had some issues getting it to use Intel turbo. Had to do alot of fiddeliing with settings in bios. It would seem to be a modified stock Intel mobo. Does this happen often?

Can you provide some information about the board in question? If it is really a no-name, maybe provide some pictures (you can host images at Techpowerup.org for free and post the BBC links in your thread). The more details you can provide, the better your questions can be answered.

If it were an Intel board I would expect turbo to work flawlessly. Now an Intel board with a custom firmware, could be issues. Usually turbo is a non-issue in my experience with Intel systems.

Would like to add the board works fine just it seems odd iv never seen something like it, couldn't find it on Intel site

looks like a intel made board that somebody 'stole' off the assembly line and resold
and yea that happens never order off of ebay or from aliexpress 9/10th of it is stuff thats been 'miss placed' and resold
I would't trust that board not to blow up and take everything connected to it with it

assuming you got the turbo issue fixed, how does it work? ive yet to see anyone actually try them out.

edit: could you show some screenshots of the bios and maybe run a cpuz benchmark on the board? its not that i want to buy one, just curious.

edit 2: is it possible you could also post some screenshots of cpuz? would like to see if it is reporting everything as running fine such as quad channel.

Mate, you bought a genuine Chinesse motherboard whose quality, safety and stability are very questionable.
X79's are hard to find (even harder to find the new ones) and their price starts from ~300 $. There can be found used X79's from reputable manufacturers for a lot less, but you'll literally have to watch the market every day.
