The Refract S1 by XIGMATEK is one of the prettier cases we've seen at this year's Computex. This ATX mid-tower is dominated with its thick acrylic front cover that bumps outward in a trapezoid shape, refracting the light that comes from the three LED-lit front intake fans. The front is topped off with a gorgeous brushed-aluminium top panel with front panel ports - three USB 3.0 type-A and HDA jacks. The side is dominated by a tempered glass panel.

Measuring 457 mm x 190 mm x 467 mm (LxWxH), the storage area of the Refract S1 includes four 3.5-inch drive bays, and two 2.5-inch. Its cooling system includes three pre-installed 120 mm front intake fans with blue LED illumination, one 120 mm rear exhaust fan, and three 120 mm top exhaust mounts. You can mount up to two 360 mm x 120 mm radiators.

All it is is "keeping up with the jones's" In business, you cant beat 'em... join 'em. We must all remember that if your competition comes out something and it sells, you better believe you better do the same thing. It's a cash craze right now and manufacturers would be fools not to jump on this bandwagon.

Inwin already has made a case using those materials.
Using is the word here. I'm talking about a case only made out of these materials (because a case made from only tempered glass wouldn't be that practical).

Cases like this usually have vents on the sides... oh, look, there they are.

you missed my point entirely. They have the front fans as exhaust as well as rear as intake on top of having negative pressure. Dust, dust EVERYWHERE! It would've also looked better with the LED side facing the croud IMO.

Also, developpers put time to implement a multi-quote function, you should use it and the edit button too.

It clearly says the front fans are intake. That word does not even remotely look like exhaust. The presentation box is just that: presentation.

"They" as in the guys who installed the fans on the case and built it for the show. Not "They" as in the design engineers of Xigmatek.

I should've been more specific, my comment was kind of confusing and at risk for misinterpretation.

Go check the new ones, 3 fans taking air directly from the...glass panel!

not to talk about those 2 fans sitting on the bottom, starving

Oh god. The only way I can see that usefull is if those fans are completely blocked off so they can't send air back into the case. It's like the InWin 303, but setup differently and the 303 works, so I wouldn't see why this wouldn't. It just is very unconventional.

Wow, thats an elegant case in my book. Wish it came in an E-ATX form factor as I might swap out for that one.

Agreed, no C = no BUY, regardless how pretty, well-designed, or functional the case is overall.

I don't understand why this is so hard for the mfgr's to get....there is only like a $.78 cost differential between the connectors, so even 4 of them would only add $3 to the base cost....

And the more cases that come with C ports, the faster they would be adopted by the users, which in turn would cause more C-based peripherals to be created and sold. A win-win-win for all concerned.. WTF ?
