W7 slow booting Safe Mode

W7 U x64 SP1.

Windows starts normally, but Safe Mode loads very slowly.

'Loading Windows Files' does one driver or system file at a time, taking about a second for each.

Any ideas?

On your primary system, or something with mechanical hard drives?

Yes, sig rig.

So, RAID0 would cause slow loading of Safe Mode, but normal loading of Windows?

I did not have this issue with my previous setup (X58 mobo with RAID0), but this Z170 mobo has.

Im pulling at straws here....hence the "?" At the end of my post.

Maybe its M$'s way of saying move to win10,

Its an odd issue,& ive never had it happen...but i did see several posts while googling it...i have similar ssd's(850evo) but no raid & sata.if the 960 is a pcie ssd that may be another reason possibly

Worst case scenario a wrong answer will put your thread back ttt so maybe someone see's it that knows

you said the issue happens during the drivers loading. Well (iirc) that's when safe mode loads generic drivers as opposed to the manufacturer ones you would have installed in your full OS. Maybe its something To do with the generic drivers not playing nice

The drives are 960 EVO M.2 SSD.

I got a reply on another forum that it might be the video driver not loading properly.

Something I will have to live with, I suppose.

There really is no Video driver loading during safe mode; other than a very generic VGA one.
