Looking for a Co-Op Scifi 3rd or 1st person title...

Anyone know of one? Something ME style with a story would be cool. Looking because my buddy wants to play something like this but I have no real idea on whats out there and coop. Not really looking for a straight FPS game but more adventure/action.

Well, what sprung to mind is Star Trek: The Game. It's based on the rebooted Star Trek movies.

It has co-op, but I have heard conflicting stories on whether it is broken or not. I only played it solo, and the AI did a respectable (although not stellar) job of handling the other character that another person would play.

So obviously I cannot tell you the state of co-op, only that it meets your requirements.

Check out Lost Planet 2, the reviews are not that great but I've heard the co-op part is worth it.

We are both big Star Tek fans so this might be the best choice if it has a true coop through entire story.

Ok dead space it is. I played and finished both DS1 and DS2 but I never played the 3. Since 3 has the coop mode I think this is perfect plus it is cheap and a fairly short game if like 1 & 2 so we can bust through it and move on to maybe Star Trek.

I loved the first release, I think I dabbled in the second, but the first one really captured my interest the most.... not to mention at the time of its release it was sort of a first for that genre , or Atleast a first that was SO captivating.

I think it's the first one where the initial seen just scares the shit out of you ,the first time you see it where the guy turns into a mutant alien or whatever it is, then you have to run away through the hospital of hell we're everything is going 2$hit

yeah I enjoyed the first one a lot but the second one was my fav. I hope the 3rd one is as good as at least one of the first two.

Have you tried Alien Swarm?
It's short, does not really have a full "story driven experience", but it's fun in co-op, especially with friends!
I when it's got the second wind with 2015-2016 updates, I beat the campaign at least 20 times, and that's on random servers with total asshole-strangers.
And it's Free-to-play, no microtransactions, no ads. Just a fun Source engine community project, members of which were then hired by valve.
Alien Swarm sequel also came out this spring. Also free to play!

Another option: F.E.A.R. 3 in co-op mode. There is also multiplayer, but it's now empty and sucks by its nature, but the campaign is fun.

As an alternative to co-op campaigns you may also try Warframe. It's fun mmo/co-op sci-fi third-person shooter with lots of stuff to do, from killing hordes of aliens/robots/monsters to grinding resources, crafting weapons, armor and various trinkets, to completing quests for your factions.
Ask @RCoon - he's an expert. Every time I start steam, the first thing I see is "[NPU]Rcoon is playing Warframe" popup.

I've never tried From the Depths co-op but it should be good. If that works, consider FortressCraft: Evolved and Portal Knights.

I haven't played it yet but my understanding is that Far Cry 4 has a co-op campaign.

+1 for Alien Swarm. Also now that Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop released there is a whole new campaign.

System Shock 2 had co-op if I remember correctly. It's an older title, but has an immersive story, immersive world and with graphic mods, pretty damn good graphics considering it's 18 years old game.

Oh, just remembered. Dead Effect 2. Pretty cool sci-fi game with Doom like gameplay and monsters, player skill level and shit ton of weapons to buy and upgrade. I really liked this game. iirc it has co-op...

Doom 3 Coop mod? Theres also Unreal Gold coop modes/mods if you hunt around.
