TPU Site issues 2016/17

I'm getting very intermittent server hangups over the last couple of days. A single refresh always clears them, however. Anyone else seeing this?

Started a month or so ago for me iirc Over that for a variety of issues which are intermittent. But stalling, img issues (the biggest being if any bold type was used at anytime in a post it screws with img's even if bold disabled it just keeps re-enabling itself i guess*img links dont work if bold is on if your unaware with what im describing*), and slow loading has been a real issue for me.

Fixed now. Just back from Computex, was sleepy, and forgot to charge my "TPU Down" alert phone

Weekly occurrence now unfortunately at least an hour down for me tonight, could be 2 since I gave up trying

Everything was running smooth until I started doing some testing to see how it would handle one crashed server. Failed

Just had a short outage. One of our SSDs died and was replaced, started resyncing data and overloaded the IO subsystem Should be fine now, site might be a little bit slower than usual

For some reason today the IOS app is not responding. It will open think about connecting then the app will minimize back to the screen but I can open like task and it's in background still frozen. Tried several times no go even after restarting phone.
Using 10.3.2 on 6S
EDIT. Just seen Error 50(5?) a split second before it closed

I can echo this. Usually I just use browser on my phone, but also have occasional use of an iPhone. IOS app worked earlier today, and now no longer works. Uninstalled and reinstalling doesn't help. It thinks about connecting then ctd.

What's the benefit to running these mobile apps as opposed to just browsing it like you are on desktop?

I don't know, maybe I'm old-fashioned but I don't think I actually have an app ....unless browsers are considered apps

The app uses less power, I can tell you that between the two. The app is self contained, and thus if you really need to check or follow a link you need to copy it and go to a browser.

I prefer using the browser on my windows phone. It's crisper and faster, but uses a lot of data and power. I'm finding the same thing on this iphone right now, snappier, but more power use without the app.

Aside for some weird page layout issues as well as image posting problems, I like using either Safari or Firefox on my iPhone the power consumption has never been a real issue for me but that's a personal experience id guess.
my Biggest problem with TPU site whether on mobile or PC, is image posting. from what i can tell, if an image URL has ANY bold in it, or is all in bold, it will not function, even if the address is exactly the same....now obviously this by itself is no issue, but what im running into, is if I use bold at ANY point in a post, then later try to post an image, i will get the dead image error pic thingy....for whatever reason it re-enables Bold type when tying to input the images url, and causes it to not post the image....the only solution i have found is to sign out, then sign back in...especially annoying during FS posts.

I dunno if this is recent or if I've just noticed it now, but when I go to a topic I have visited previously and there are new messeges, it should bring me to the first messege I have not read. But now I get directed to the absolute bottom of the page so I have to scroll up. It only seem to happen if there has not been enough messeges to create a new page.

It happens on Android something 7 something, Opera.

Fixed an issue in the app, news section, the euro sign in the steam sale post caused some breakage. This is a server-side fix

Also fixed YouTube embed here on the forums not properly resizing the thumbnail on mobile devices. I know you asked for this a lot, finally found time to fix.

just reload the page, i'm changing some files and php reparses the file quicker than the upload can complete in some cases.
