Screen goes black?!

Hey guys
I would appreciate your help.
Lately while using the pc either in gaming or internet screen goes black. the computer works (it wont restart or something)
i got rampage iv extreme edition.
fault code on the motherboard is: 40 - OEM post memory initialization codes
i have to restart the pc to make it work.
any ideas?

PLL is not sufficient, turn it up by one notch.

Is PC over clocked? If it is, I would set it to defaults and see if issues persists. If it doesn't you know it's your overclock. Start by there.

happened again now. code 30.
and it sais
30 - System is waking up from the S3 sleep state.

where are you getting this code from? in windows?

I think he said it was from the LED display on the mother board. Have you checked all your power saving features in windows? Maybe you have something telling windows to shut some components down for power saving or something. I know there are some profiles in windows to save power that can cause havoc if enabled. Make sure the power profile is set to performance.

is on performance and everything is off and on never selection. now. am waiting to see if the pc will do it again and come back to you guys

nope. happened again

and now the code was on AA Reserved for ASL (See asl codes below)
AA=system has transitioned into ACPI mode. interupt controller is in APIC mode.
yesterday the code was also 30 or 40 which is also an ASL code.
S3: system is waking from the s3 sleep state
S4: system is waking from the s4 sleep state
i know for a fact that AA means that pc runs as it should be.
screen turns black. u can hear the sound of the game but not the characters or anything.

BIOS updated recently? If no, check for a newer one. Also, reload the BIOS with default settings, then with Optimal settings. Step after this is clear CMOS jumper.

That done, and with erratic codes every time it happens, I'm thinking PSU/loose connections if not motherboard.

Grounding issue in the case? Try to assemble the motherboard outside of the case and see if it does it.
