The SABER68 from Originative Co. is a 65% form-factor keyboard with functionality similar to a TKL keyboard. Originative added its own tweaks to this project in the form of dye sublimated PBT keycaps and exclusive MOD linear and tactile switches that aim to offer options many have asked for and not received from Cherry.

Jesus that's ugly. And for that price I want a full keyboard. Also, what's up with the backlighting not lighting up the actual lettering on the caps?

I used to have the "original form" of this keyboard, called TADA68, with Gateron Black. Use it for 6 months before a couple of keys starting to not register, quality control certainly isn't the manufacturer strong suit.

Jesus that's ugly. And for that price I want a full keyboard.

I like the layout, but I like 75% layout better since it has separate F-row and number cluster. Also this has a full programmable features (which probably you won't get from any OEM keyboard) and a good quality keycaps (not some cheap thin ABS).

Also you can get the keyboard for $20 cheaper if you bought the original brand from a distributor from China (only available with Gateron switches) here's the link : https://shop.kbdfans.cn/collections...ub-keycaps-cherry-profils?variant=34710238797

And the alumunium case version only cost an extra $62 compared $110 at Originative.

Also, what's up with the backlighting not lighting up the actual lettering on the caps?

Because the keycaps isn't a shine through keycaps, it's a thick PBT keycaps with dye sub legend made by Gateron (EnjoyPBT). I have 3 full sets of EnjoyPBT keycaps and in my opinion it's one of the best PBT keycaps you can find around.

I don't get these "look at us, we're special because no reason, give us money" type of keyboards.

Well, this keyboard price tag is nothing compared to, for example, most of Korean custom mechanical keyboard.
Let me ask you a question, how much do you think this keyboard cost based on a look alone. And don't use Google image, just guess :D :

Not sure how much it is, but not cheap. Custom cable, custom keycaps (maybe even combination of two sets).

Something north of 200 USD?

As far as Originative goes, I have atm their keycaps (very dark grey with black legends, double-shot PBT) and they look great, they great to touch. No complaints really. Probably wouldnt buy keyboard from them tho, just keycaps they do really fine. Also I like my Novatouch TKL a lot to actually replace it. :D

The keyboard is Duck Octagon V1, a Korean custom. You're not that far off, the cheapest brand new Octagon V1 with acrylic bottom case is around $239, but with alumunium case it's $349. And because of the very limited availability the used price is even more crazier, that one is for sale for $480 without the keycaps (the keycaps is GMK Dolch, used price is around $90 up to $180).

I've had the TADA68 for almost a year now and I absolutely love it, I'm all about the retro colors and simple layout.

Well, if the other hardware is "different than black", then those would be cool. My controller is white and other hardware is black, and that already disturbs me. :D

Yea thats kinda why I have dark grey keycaps with black letters. It fits everything else I have. :D
