[Acer Aspire M5-581T] Need Track(touch)pad

Hey all,

Having trouble finding a replacement trackpad compatible for my friends machine. Can anyone recommend me a place to shop? I don't want to send the laptop away. I live in Canada, if there's a place close-by that can ship. I tried google but I can only find other acer aspire m5 models, and don't know what to look for in terms of compatibility. I know laptops are supremely sensitive, and I don't want to guess this out, let alone waste my friends money ordering an incompatible replacement.

Which is your touchpad vendor, Elantech or Synaptics?

Have you looked at eBay?
That touchpad from UK that @dorsetknob mentioned was literally the first thing that popped up in google.
You may be better off ordering the whole palmrest from US or Canada. Faster than shipping from EU or China, and you'll have some spare parts:

ACPI\VEN_ETD&DEV_0502 Is what I found so "Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad" it looks like?

Yeah I'm a scrub with laptops still. I usually just buy new ones but I'd like to repair them too so this is all helpful, trust me lol.


Out of curiousity, what did you guys type into google for this type of inquiry? I know it's probably most stupid question of TPU 2017 but curious what you guys thought.
