What is the best Keyboard and mouse that can be used with PS/2 Ports?

It will be used on an old KVM at my work that only supports PS/2 Mouse and Keyboard Input for the console.

For the keyboard, I am looking to get either a Noppoo choc mini 84 Cherry MX Brown or an Adesso Compact Size Mechanical Gaming Keyboard AKB-625UB with PS/2 adapter.

For the mouse, I am looking to get a Logitech G500 (hyperscroll wheel and thumb buttons is a must)

Will it work?

Do you guys have any specific brand or model recommendation for USB to PS/2 adapter for both the keyboard and mouse?

I think those classic IBM keyboards with chunky, clicky keys might still be available from some third party manufacturer which would support this. Have a Google for it.

Alternatively, some cheap USB keyboards might support PS/2 with an adapter. Check the specs.

No need to be fussy there. USB to PS/2 adapters are simple, low tech devices. I guess if I had to suggest something, I would suggest getting one that is single one-piece molded device like this instead of one with wires only because wires can become frayed, cut, or yanked on too hard.

As for keyboards and mice, you need to find ones that feel good in YOUR hands.

The IBM style Buckling Spring models are available from Unicomp a company that bought out the old IBM Lexmark keyboard plant.

And yes they still have PS/2 option available.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you can just get a USB to a PS2 adapter and use any keyboard that's USB compliant unless there's some sort of signal loss or something when adapted from USB to PS2.... so my guess would be any

Only if the keyboard "speaks" the native PS/2 of the switch. Otherwise a passive adapter as suggested will not work, only active.

My Filco MJ2 Ninja TKL worked with PS/2 for awhile, was nice because it had NKRO, then I am not sure if the adapter died or the port so I just used it on USB.

This. Make sure the USB to PS2 adapter is an active one. Very few modern keyboards support PS2 via passive adapters.

Depends on how they are wired. I know logitech adapters wont work with anything but logitech products, I am unsure about microsoft ones.

No, it doesn't. There are literally two types of adapters, passive and active. Passive simply switch the wires, active translate the bus commands. Believe me, this is something I have studied a lot.

EDIT: Oh I mean yeah there can be different wiring types for passive adapters, sorry, misunderstood you.

Considering active ones cost $20.00+ bucks a pop, and are very rare, it's likely.
