Yes, the rep made a mistake. Something went wrong, and they could have handled it better.
Same could be said for how you handled the situation.
That said…
The refund policy is clear.
You had plenty of time, and two years is way past anything reasonable.
You got twelve hours out of it. Which at 5$/hour means you got 60$ worth of entertainment out of it.
Problem was I paid 90.

Wow, that's really crappy of them. I'd understand a straight up no, but to agree to refund and then back out isn't fair.
And this REALLY bugs me..
THATS what got me too.

If you're really, really, really serious about getting a full refund, Better Business Bureau is really the only path that might work. Even then, I put the odds at less than 10% because you're two years out from purchase. The only way it might work is if you have proof of all these conversations that go all the way back to 2015. If you can document they've been stalling, then you might get somewhere.

As of battlefield 3, and the many disappointing decisions electronics arts made ,I stopped purchasing products from them. iirc, my beef was originally the 2 players no longer allowed to start a match. I understand the issues with points & ranking and all that crap ,but the fact of the matter is when the game shipped and sold (as of my time of purchase ) you could play a two player match, which myself and my roommate did until it was patched to no longer allow any less than four players for a match start... that was the beginning of the end for me when it came to electronic arts. It look like I wasn't wrong either, based on all the complaints from battlefield three ,Battlefield four ,and on and on and on.

Unfortunately my $50 missing every year doesn't make a shits difference

It's kinda how Supermarkets are. If they have something labeled with the wrong price they need to honor it. I don't know if there is anything concrete on that, but I've seen that happen personally. Same thing here. He knew he was past the refund period, but he decided to give it a go and the first CS rep told him he would refund him. They should've at least offered some sort of compensation, at least.

I generally have a good experience with their chat support. They do sometimes have issues with the system. I wasn't able to access support for days once. But when i got in touch with them, it went fine.
