Hi,

Recently my GPU started making whining noises. The card in question is a Gigabyte Radeon R9 270X Windforce 3X OC 2GB GD5 and is about a year old from unboxing and is also not used that hard. Sometimes its barely audible but on bootup it's louder. When gaming it does not happen.

What can I do because it's irritating at times. I have a Cooler Master B500 PSU also not that old.

Thanks TPU

If the coil whine is only audible when you're not gaming there isn't much you can do I'm afraid.

It's possible that your PSU is producing coil whine. GPUs usually whine during some graphics tasks where FPS hits over 1000. Limit FPS to 60 in AMD control panel.
