So lately I've been wanting to get into PC gaming, so I put together a list of components, but I'm not completely sure they are compatible with each other. If there are any suggestions on the build, they would be greatly appreciated as well. My budget is $800.

Not bad. There are a couple of things where the price is cheaper and they are on sale now. Like a 256Gb SSD for $78 @ NE

Id get an i3... some games today cant run with 2c/2t. The i3 has 2c/4t... id also step up to the 1060.. a 1050ti isnt really a great gamer at 1080p res.

Found out by that other silly thread about one running without a heatsink which is running at 1.5ghz and thermally throttling (which wasnt thermally throttling).

Id still go 1060... 1050ti i wouldnt start with gaming...

There is no benefit to this other than faster startups. 120GB SSD prices are $20 more than they used to be, and for $17 more, you can get a 256GB SSD. For $91, you can get the Seagate 2TB FireCuda Gaming SSHD that comes with a 5 year warranty.

I agree ,don't buy one of those silly PCI wireless cards. they're functionally no better than a USB version (which can be an inch long),+ they cost more ,and they take up space.. and although I don't have proof I would hazard a guess based on my experience that the PCI version will draw more power but I could be wrong on that last claim. I'm basing that assumption on the fact that I've seen wireless PCI cards with heat sinks and I've never seen a USB wireless adapter with a heat sink

I think you can get the newer version of that TP Link USB adapter that has the ac option for 20 bucks. I've used a few of them they work great

Some of those USB wireless adapters have additional CPU overhead compared to a PCI/PCIe card or even a ethernet to wifi converter.

1050Ti games pretty decently especially if you don't expect to max out all settings, though many games it should do quite well IMHO. Sure a 1060 is better, and for more serious gaming I'd have to agree with you that it would be the better investment if found at a realistic market price. But on a budget the 1050Ti is a solid option for gaming. Does depend on what the user is wanting to play, what resolutions, graphics settings they can/can't live without, and what FPS they find acceptable.

So with that said, what is your gaming goal with this @sjrsmpgkpmmrmwp ?

What games do you intend to play? Seeing that you're buying a 1080p monitor that gives us an idea of what resolution you likely desire to play at.

Depending on the kinds of games you play, even the 1050Ti could be overkill honestly...or if you're looking at playing the latest and greatest AAA game with all the goodies turned on, that 1050 may cry, kick and scream for each frame it has to put out.

Looks like a decent budget build for a new gaming PC with options to upgrade into the future if desired and for however long this platform lasts.

1060 3GB is at least 70$ more, 6GB is double the price, it's up to the budget really and what type of games are intended. For any mass multiplayer game by Steam or Blizzard the 1050ti is exactly what you need and more. That card can give you 50-60 fps in BF1 Ultra settings multiplayer though with a G4560 it will not be so smooth when the going gets tough.

htpc... to play videos mostly...its solid as is on board. But this is a gaming rig, not an htpc.

I'd even looked used and older gen to move up a notch or two in performance. Do understamd though, i lime high/ultra settings with enough AA to get rid of the jaggies. If the OP is good with image quality sacrifices out of the gate, he has the right card.

Right now the card market just sucks as a whole. I'd advise if you need a new pc to skip a gpu and hold off hardcore gaming, and use that extra money for an i5. If you absolutely need to game, I'd say i3 and a used 600/700 series gpu IF prices in your area are better on those cards than a 1050ti.

Before ordering anything online, visit a few local used computer parts shops and see if you can save a few extra bucks. There are a few things I would choose differently, but I dont think the OP would go Red team.
