I played up to reaching land and walking a bit before I had to hit the sack. Visually the game looks pretty good so far. Sound is good too. All the voices might make me insane though lol. If this is what people go through then...damn. I'll try it with headphones tonight but my speakers did it justice last night.

With headphones the voices literally circle around your head, which is exactly how they recorded it. :)

is it only me that is finding the sword fights too f-cking difficult.. so far i am stuck not that far into the game.. okay i accept the fact i aint that good at sword fighting and i am getting better at it but easy level (for me at least) aint that f-cking easy.. he he..

i bought the game thinking it would be a slow visual audio experience.. which it is.. but i aint gonna get to see much of it without what seems to me at least learning some pretty nifty sword fighting skills.. :)

Wait for enemy to approach and swing. Use block first, then use several fast, and one heavy strike in. You can get that many in before having to block again. Maybe even another set.

It's important to dispatch the enemy as quickly as possible, otherwise you are facing more than one, with one behind you. Atthat point you will definitely dies, with the black rot expanding further.

I need to give that a try tonight ;)) , it is really creepy

The game looks good but not that good in order to justify the amount of compute power that it requires to run at very high settings:D

Your system will kill it. I'm running all max settings except Shadows, which are set to high instead of very high.

I've already played it for an hour or so, it runs around the 60-75fps mark this is not bad but not great either

is it better to get it on pc or ps4?
I have no idea. I dont know anyone that has both. I do know the PC version has very positive user rating on GOG and Steam both.

I havent played a mutiplatform game on ps4. Always used a pc.
I can only assume at this point that Ninja Theory did just as good a job on PS4 as PC, since there are only a few bugs I know of.

My system can run blade and soul really well. No lag.
That doesn't really mean much. That thing can run on a potato. We need to know your specs to be sure.
As for a PS4 version, it's running at 1080p 30fps, unless you have a PS4 Pro, then you can either run it at 4K 30fps, or a quite low one (looks definitely lower than 1080) with a highly variable framerate.

yeah a laptop. i dont really like pcs. i prefer laptops.
No problem, some people prefer laptops. He was just confirming.

That laptop has GTX 1050 in it, correct? I believe that will be fine, since minimum specs is a GTX 770. You'll have to try different settings to find out how high above minimum settings you can go. I suspect at least medium on most.

A half of a 690 (SLI isn’t working in this game) was giving me about 35-50 fps on very high, so I’m guessing there will be a bit more with a 1050.

with a pair of 980 TI cards at very high setting i am seeing 60 to 75 fps... with a bit more practice i managed to kill the three dudes and move on.. :)

how well sli woks i dont know.. i havnt tried switching it off.. the next hard bit is setting the wicker gates on fire and getting back through them without death my burning.. he he..

i dont think that the perma-death thing is working because if it was i would have been back at the beginning long ago.. :)

the game is tough on hardware.. but it dosnt need super high frame rates.. 30 fps is probably enough..

trog

ps.. i am running a 1440 resolution..

Graphics is very good, story...will see, so far a good experience.
Is this game really the first quality implementation for Unreal 4 engine? If so is very well done.

Only problem I can asses regarding the graphics, is that the textures look very washed and low quality even on max settings? also crappy FXAA implementation ruins even more. Why are the devs not dumping this shitty post processing crap in favor of a more mature and quality wise one, such as SMAA or TSSAA ?

Are the consoles not capable of more than 1024x1024 texture size?? I was playing first Mass Effect and Skyrim with 4096x4096 textures like 7 years ago...

SMAA is hardly any better than FXAA most of the time and more expensive and temporal anti aliasing is more difficult to implement. There is no surprise most of the time FXAA is all you get.

I don't think the washed out look is because of the AA , most games nowadays feature heavy post process effects that result in that "smeared look".
