Anyone else getting freaky issues with Nvidia lately?

The funny thing was i was drunk on double volka and redbull on the night when i discovered the flaw inside the bios causing all sort of problem as the offset in the boost department was way off as when i corrected it i was getting the freeze the odd time better than every 5 mins freexe during the dx11 mode

hi everyone been awhile since i last posted. i been doing alot of tweaking since the troubles i had with thrle nvidia gtx 660 2gb i have. I have resolved the main issue to downgrade the nvidia driver the latest to 347.88. I also had to tweak windows 10 for performance and turned off superfetch, search index, media player network and other unused services and final tweaking the power behaviour settings for max performance as well turned off fastboot in the option where it stated what will the power button do. Other than that the system is running on e5450 @ 4.07ghz at 1.24 vcore with llc enabled hottest it was 63c with intel burn test most of the time when gaming it about 55c.

Also forgot to mention i managed to make use of the xbox 360 fan for cooling the ram as well which i can control using the speedfan software which is handy as well

So far this year I've had a few minor quirks with NV drivers, but nothing system or game-breaking...I have backed off keeping up to speed with driver releases on all my PCs with NV graphics and now have no complaints.

Would it be useful to have an ongoing thread for both NV and AMD driver releases and experiences/issues with them? Right now the title is a bit misleading as this has turned into a very useful info thread for people trying driver versions. That's mostly what I tripped over here when I said necro: the 'lately' in topic title..

Just wanted to add the @Edwired picked a good driver. 347.88 was THE last driver to have any Kepler updates and optimizations in it. It was a very good driver. I held onto it quite awhile while I still had a 780, and never had any problems with newer games I did not have a "game ready" driver for.

I do think that'd be a great idea!

Feel free to start a thread in the AMD and/or NV section if you feel like spearheading that. If it takes off and be kept manageable and appropriate, we can submit a request for a sticky. Reviewing driver issues is always something that is an ongoing topic that we see a lot of threads about, and while I agree many issues should be individual threads...overall driver threads for various issues, bugs, fixes, etc. would be kinda handy to have as a singular place for each AMD and NV users to check out what the current state of drivers are, what to expect, what to avoid, what others are doing about issues, etc.

got another question about the nvidia is keeping the 347.88 driver but upgrade the physx and hdmi. will this work without issue?

I can't speak for now, but I did ipgrade just the PHYSX driver a couple times after 347.88 was released.

i tried it about 10 mins ago crashes with the new physx and hdmi on the 347.88 during project cars with that error that keep freezing the display and error 4101 in the event log

NVIDIA drivers have become total garbage recently. Only ones that work problem free for me are 382.05. Anything before or after is a total disaster.

Didn't really had any issues with drivers since I bought my 1060 , only thing I can think of is some weird blakcscreens I was getting with a fresh install of Windows however I believe it wasn't the driver at fault.

Honestly I never really had any issues with drivers when I used AMD either , except for that clusterfuck Rage was on AMD cards.

yes i have the 200mm fan in front of the case bringing in fresh air i have 3 for exhaust and 3 cooling the rams and the northbridge chip gotta keep the temps in check ha otherwise it makes a nice cosy heater for the room ha

I am up to date and working fine on my Titan XP. The only issue I seem to have (And its been constant no matter what version I am on) is that Geforce Experience crashes Every single time I try and update through it. I keep stopping for a bit and using the website when I can but every time I decide to try again (When the program reminds me there is an update I have not downloaded yet) as soon as I click install I get a Geforce Experience has stopped working and it takes 2-6 attempts to get it to finally install through the program. Its not the drivers themselves, but its part of it none the less.

Holy crap man you have literally EVERY type of fan in there

This is almost beyond ghetto modding... the noise must be glorious haha

One small piece of advice: be careful of those SATA cables. I see a lot of twisted ones, and they do break like that, especially if you keep twisting them/moving them.

ah well thanks for the support. the exhaust fans are nzxt 120mm x 2 with 140mm. The front fan is nzxt 200mm and the last 2 fans are either 80mm or 90mm for the northbridge and last the famous xbox 360 fan with curve fins which is hotwired to fit the 3 pin and have control with speed fan.

The sata cable twisted which one u see? As im checking each devices connected to sata are fine.

The noise isnt a problem as i have hearing loss due to a condition called Usher Syndrome

I think i may have come across a site here stating a fix as i have tried it on my system seems to make my problem disappear which was freezing the display and event viewer error 4101 when playing project cars. Will be doing a weekend of testing to see it if the game dont repeat the problems i was having

Try it out and post your findings if it fixed your problem with crashing nvidia driver
