New build AM4

Hello all members,i'm planning build a cheap ryzen pc with the folowing parts,any sug/advise are welcome

I will use pc for gaming/music/movies/browsing internet and light editing,this i got in mind:

MSI B350 Gaming Plus
AMD Ryzen 3 1300X 3.5GHz box
Corsair Vengeance LPX Red 8GB DDR4 3000MHz CL15 Dual Channel Kit

rest of parts are listed in system specs

Q1:Is worth the R5 1400 or 1500x or should i stick with R3
Q2:Any better mobo b350 in this price range ?
Q3:For now 8 Gb Ram enough in games?

Hi

1 - Personally I'd go for R5 1400, but R3 1300X serves well to.
2 - I had a great experience with Tomahawk since day one, started with 8Gb (2x4) Crucial Value Ram (Micron IC) OCed @2600 first bios and ended up @2933MHz with the 1.64 BIOS, then upgraded to Galax/KFA2 4000, but "only" managed to run @3333MHz.

, Gaming plus should do the same.
3 - Try to find one of the GALAX/KFA2 memory kits 16Gb @3600/4000MHz they have good price/performance, Samsung B-Die and you can set 3333MHz low timings on B350 MSI boards (tested on Tomahawk board).

Nothing wrong with the RAM choice to be honest.....but....
Make sure to verify the revision of the kits that have worked for others against the ones you are buying. Corsair is well known to change the revision as ICs are changed, and you could likely find ones that do not work all that well. As aGeoM stated, finding Samsung B-die is the way to go, and I too would advise finding a kit that is known to all be those. There are many, and you should be able to sort out a kit that looks good as well as performing well.

Ryzen 3 1200 arrive today,shipped well and nice protected.

P4 Yes,because i will OC the puppy and pair with b350 gaming plus mobo

Edit: As Hardware Unboxed sayd no need for bined 1300x when is unlock both,just save some cash

Maybe I wished it hard enough and changed the reality lol.
I love budget builds though.
Because after you get used to buying more expensive stuff you get under impression that anything less won't be any good which is not true at all.

Try it all,A-XMP profile 1 2800 no, profile 2-2933 nothing,switch ram a1-b1 no,put back a2-b2

Do you have your motherboard latest BIOS?
Ryzen motherboards are very picky with the RAM; if the the mobo is shipped with an early BIOS you must stick to the QVL. If you update the BIOS you might get that RAM frequency higher.

Try it at 2666 first to see if it will work there. Did you increase ram voltage?

Yes,had some issues but finally made it

4.0Ghz was unstable 1.35v so got it 3.8 1.34v

Pretty similar to what Wizz got in his review.
2933MHz is not bad either.
I think the biggest jump in performance is between 2133 to 2933 and it doesn't scale as good after 3000MHz but the memory price goes up.
So, for a budget build 3.8GHz with 2933MHz is something I would be pleased with. :toast:

3.9 GHz is max stable but i find safe @3.8GHz with stock cooler,maybe later on change with better one and try OC
Between 2933 and 3000 is not any difference,so i'm ok with it.
1300x performance under 20E money in my wallet,1200 is the cpu to go

Can you try 4 GHz with a higher voltage than 1.35V? It's no problem to go a bit higher.
