The EVGA SC17 1080 G-SYNC Gaming Laptop has arrived. Featuring a 4K-ready IPS panel with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology, this high performance laptop was meticulously crafted from the ground up for hardcore gamers, performance enthusiasts, and overclockers alike. Breaking away from the conventional brick form factor, a unique in-house EVGA designed power supply delivers up to 240 watts of power when needed, without sacrificing function or aesthetics.

The SC17 1080 pairs an unlocked Intel Core i7 7820HK CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 capable of being overclocked to offer the performance you always wanted from a gaming laptop. With performance and overclocking in mind, the EVGA SC17 1080 G-SYNC Gaming Laptop features a BIOS with mouse function to give you complete control over all aspects of performance, voltage and advanced settings to customize your gaming machine. A Clear CMOS button directly on the chassis helps you recover from an unstable overclock, and custom fan curve control keeps your laptop cool and quiet. This is the world's first TRUE overclocking laptop.

Featuring a sleek design - measuring under 1.30" (in) at its thickest point - that includes Thunderbolt connectivity, excellent sound, and a beautiful 4K 17" display, the SC17 1080 is all the performance you need in a sleek and stylish package.

  • Aluminum Unibody Chassis (Only 1.3in at thickest part)

That moment when a laptop surpasses your gaming desktop PC.

Nah... it doesnt, unless you have a midrange system.

GTX 1080 + 7820 HK + other components on a 240w power brick. Let's do some math here
GTX 1080 TDP = 180w >> OC to 210w easy
7820HK = 45-35w
Board + Storage + Panel = 10-25w easy

OC headroom is precisely zero on this power brick. And lets consider throttling. Where does this machine lose its 240w in heat, with its 'sleek design'?

So basically what this is, is a hugely overpriced, completely mismatched product with an astronomical price tag for mediocre performance and super hot components. On top of that you get...

4K @ 17inch. 4K FPS on a 1080 OC to 2 Ghz is a weak and subpar experience. 4K on a throttling 1080 = horrible. Enjoy your 25-30 fps games and a considerable battery drain even outside games that makes the machine useless on the road. Oh, you got a CPU heavy game? Enjoy your throttling 7820HK which will be pushing 2.9 Ghz anyway, and not the 3.9 turbo.

Sum of parts= AVOID

Benchmark Scores well I've fried a 775' P4 12 years ago, that counts?
never liked ultra high performance mobile devices for some simple reasons:

Limited total power, and real power
Limited cooling and expansion options.
Insane price tag for a mobile machine….

Gaming machines need care, great cooling and also space, tight space just means heat and heat, also the bigger limitation, you cannot improve cooling with another setup , all you can do for laptop cooling is using cooler pads, or go custom and void warranty modifying it, would like to see benches of this little toy hitting big clocks with its limitation about cooling and others.

Price Tag: extremely expensive, with the money spent on this computer most users will be able to build a decent and mid range Gamming computer, shopping wisely, shopping what you really need,

It's Max-Q gtx 1080, thus it's limited to ~90-110W, performance is quite close to desktop gtx1070.(Or is it, there no mention anywhere, might be vanilla mxm gtx 1080 after all) That screen resolution is just plain wrong, that I can Agree. Some 1080p 144Hz IPS or some 1440p 120Hz ips would have been suited better for it.

If it were a Max-Q it would have been even MORE ridiculous.

You buy a premium priced energy efficient GPU that performs a full tier below what it's called, to OC it and make it energy inefficient and on par with a stock 1080? LOL
