Sniper Elite 4 worth buying?

I have completed single player of all the previous Sniper Elite and I liked them a lot spend a lot of time completing them in stealth so wondering if I should purchase the 4th game for about €60 for the Deluxe version to get everything but it's a premium price even it's on G2A.

So anyone have tried Sniper Elite 4 and can tell me if it's any good for the price?

I guess if you like it so much you should buy it, but since I dont konw your financial situation I cant tell if 60$ is too much for it or not.
I would wait a bit for the price to drop. Maybe wait till steams summer sale.

I know I am a member on GMG but I want the Deluxe edition if I buy this game bcs I want all the extra's and DLC maps and not gonna buy about €77 when I can get it for about €60 on G2A shield incl.

It looks like I got tagged. It all depends on your finances. I bought it day one and don't regret it. I have around 90hours or so, give or take. I've played through each mission, or map level in single player 2 and some 3 times, trying to get a perfect run. Map levels are huge, and you can go almost anywhere.

The AI is still not hugely smart, but they will redeploy around you, even if it means going around the block, for instance, to get another angle on you and surprise you.

Stealth is actually pretty good and improved, and it will challenge you to stay a ghost. That doesn't mean they all lock onto you right away and shoot laser precision at you. It means you have to move quietly, stay hidden, and time your shots, just like real life. Oh, and hide any bodies you kill close to you, because they WILL do a good search.

Overall, more fun and challenging than the previous entries. But hey, I totally love Sniper games, so I am biased.

P.S. It was bug-free for me. I have no idea what it was like for the rest of the Internet as I was too busy playing to read what people were saying.

I didn't buy it as a fan of the series because they decided to keep pretty much the same everything it seems and just give a new setting and graphics update. No new mechanics, weapons, storyline or characters really. Again I haven't played it but that's generally the way of these games and I'm refusing to buy into it at this point. Maybe at $5 Steam sales.

Sniper Elite 4 is just like the previous two games, nothing is really changing. The latest game somehow feels the most boring, even though the level design is nice. This whole franchise feels like one big game with different levels each time. The A. I. in SE4 is exactly the same throughout the series like it was in SEV2 and SE3; that said it is not challenging anymore. The biggest challenge comes from learning maps; once you learn them, playing the second time feels repetitive. I wish the developers would make a game with radical enemy behavior and intelligence changing. The biggest BS is that after some time the enemies stop searching for you and stop pursuing you even though you just killed some of their comrades in front of their eyes - talk about realistic game with the most unrealistic A. I. ever. Yes, i like how they cover and try to surround you, but then again the A. I. is made so stupid. For instance, the sniper notices you and tries to target you, but if you hide, then the sniper just continues to patrol in it's short area just like nothing happened? WTF? This is so far away from real life, in which once spotted, the enemy sniper would never show himself again or he would instantly change the sniping location to a totally new one. I also hate that there is no option to determine the wind direction and strength, thus making shooting impossible without the aim help. Finally all that tag and enemy awareness radar BS is making the game a joke. I mean, it makes sense in Crysis to some extent, but not in a WW2 game.

I have as well and like a lot. The AI is improved since SE3, and the ability to hide is a big plus. The maps being much bigger allows you to take out almost the whole map from just a few sniper locations, as a sniper and not a commando.

As for its realism, I don't play it for that. It's just a fun arcade game.

I think the game is good enough but it depends on the price that you'll pay for it. If you can find it under 20£ or 25 euros than I would say it's worth it

I get your point. I expected the contrary. I wanted more realism in each series, that's why i was disappointed, but still managed to enjoy the game.

But please explain how on earth is A. I . improved since Sniper Elite 3. I did not notice any "upgrades"...

I actually mentioned it a few posts above about the AI. They will actually circle all the way around the block to get behind you or search for your suspected location. Also when they find a body, they don't just get alarmed. They will actually search the surrounding area, which is why I advised hiding bodies, and not being near any body in the open.. if you are, their search will find you. These are all things I didn't find present in previous releases.

It was not that long ago that i played SE3, but i don't remember the key differences in A. I.. So right, i did notice the enemies trying to surround you once a dead body is being found. I really liked how they would go quickly in masses and not just one person strolling in duck steps searching for you. Their hiding tactics did not really change. Can you tell any more difference from the previous games? I just finished the SE4 addons and liked them a lot. Somehow the addons are always even more fun than the main game missions.

You are correct, the AI hiding is as bad as it ever was: hide, hide, bob part of head up, then bob the rest of the head up....and they are dead from a really bad headache.

So you were OK with 3 games having the same formula, and suddenly were put off by it with the 4th? It also begs the question if the first 3 had the same formula, why you thought the 4th would be any different?

The fact is they've kept the same formula because it's been popular. Most don't mind if it's primarily the setting that changes. It's kinda like "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

You wouldn't say that about , for example , a TV whose image quality isn't quite what you expected because , you know , you never really know what you bought until you use it.

A game is a product just like any other , returning/getting a refund because you didn't like it for whatever reason is a perfectly legit action in my option. Within the legal terms of course.
